[SOLVED] Re: Refresh rate issue

I am going to call this a win, albeit in a round about sort of way. I am excited to hear the upcoming new version addresses this. Thank to @Roblm for all the help. I'm very grateful.

Re: Refresh rate issue

In the nvidia settings app it is showing g-sync enabled. Per haps if I turn of Intel GPU in the BIOS? Quite frankly the only reason I have it set to auto or both is in case i need to boot to live usb. For some reason when Nvidia GPU only is selected in bios it will not even boot to live usb.

Re: Refresh rate issue

It does work, at least it appears to work. I just do not know why I cannot use the Nvidia settings (control panel). For example how can I ensure G-sync is actually working etc.

Frustrating...

Thank you for all your help

Code: Select all

xrandr --output DP-4 --mode 2560x1440 --rate 165
But of course that is only per session and not permanent, but it does not black out laptop screen

Re: Refresh rate issue

If I had a wish list for next version of Mint it would be to include a GUI Display settings app like other distros that you could select your individual monitor resolution and refresh rate setting and have them be persistent at reboot.

Re: Refresh rate issue

Did everything. I have option of 165hz in Nvidia settings. Then when I reboot both come back up fine but ASUS moni...
