I've been using DDG for some time and just last month I switched from gmail to Protonmail, I'm not a hoar...

Re: Help with finding Linux Resouces

One more I've come across that's got loads of info worth exploring... https://wiki.archlinux.org/

Although it's an Arch Linux Wiki there's lots of useful info on Linux in general along with applications and their config.

Good site search function, it returns results for common terms too

Re: Okay to remove language packs?

At least he's honest about it. I used it a long time ago with no problems, but noticed that it didn't really remove very many files, so I wrote a script to remove extraneous language files from at least 50 locations in the system; they seem to take up about 2% of a new installation's disk space. Ye...

Re: Okay to remove language packs?

Check out package localepurge , in the repos. Reading the info for that package ain't too inspiring  This tool is a hack which is *not* integrated with the system's package management system and therefore is not for the faint of heart. Its interference can provoke strange, but usually harmless...

Re: Totally Mint..!!

I keep my Win 10 partition around just for the license. If I ever give up this laptop, I can remove the Mint partition and restore it to Win 10 if the new user wants that. I've never booted into Win10 so the new user would be able to configure Win10 as if it were new. The warranty won't be voided e...

Yep, I missed ImgBurn initially but have got my head around Xfburn, and with some occasional command line work it meets ...
