Re: Just installed LXDE on Gloria.

LXDE works great, but has to have the worst logo I've seen of anything Linux-related! Looks like something from an anime film.

Re: Blue Scroll Bars

Download gnome-color-chooser (Should be in the Ubuntu repositories. It allows you to change pretty much whatever color you want on the theme you're currently using. The scrollbar colors are located in the tab marked "Specific".

Are you using Gnome? If so, right-click the panel and select "Properties". Once it opens, select the "Background" tab and check the middle option. It gives you the option to select a colour and a slider to choose the level of transparency.

Re: Kill Gnome Network Manager

Network Manager is the "backbone" as it were that runs in both Gnome and KDE. Gnome's front-end is called "nm-applet". That's the one you will need to prevent from starting up. Unfortunately, I do not run KDE 4.x so I can't tell you exactly where to set the start-up configuration.

I'm at work, so I'm on my laptop which has Ubuntu Jaunty on it, and it plays fine for me. Controls are there immediately and the audio sounded great.

Never used CO, but I've run Photoshop 7 under Wine in both Jaunty and Gloria with no problems.

Songbird's not in the repos as far as I know. I had to download a deb when I tried it.

Right click on mPLayer, Preferences, video, select gl driver.

They weren't working for me earlier on Firefox, but I checked just now and things seem to be fine again. BBC must've had a glitch on their end.

Re: Older version of Konqueror?

Go here: http://apt.pearsoncomputing.net/install.html Follow the instructions to add the Jaunty repos. Then you should be able to install any KDE 3.5 component you wish. They'll all have a -kde3 suffix after them. For example, to install konqueror should be: sudo apt-get install konqueror-kde3

Re: Amazon search no longer working in Tellico

Amazon isn't "having issues", they've made changes to their api. No program that relies on Amazon will be able to do the things we've grown accoustomed to without at least some changes. Amazon has changed their data API to require that all searches be signed with a secret key, unique to each user. ...
