Does this work with Linux Mint Debian? I'm considering installing LMDE on my new laptop, and would love to have Unity on there as an option.AlbertP wrote:You can install Unity from Software Manager in Linux Mint 11.

Re: totem and youtube [solved] goto page 2 to see how
Hello! Thank you for patching this. Your solution works great. For those noobs like me, let me tell you how to get this patch working. It took me a full 60 seconds. You will need to start the Package Manager (not mintInstall) and do a search for "Patch". Install the "Apply a diff file...

Re: [SOLVED] Installing Mint 7 KDE via USB error
You may be talking to yourself in terms of replies, but I was listening! I've been having trouble with this myself so your posts were a great help to me. Thank you for that. Glad to hear it. It occurs to me that the unetbootin MIGHT have had a similar problem, just being manifest in a very differen...

Wifi on HP mini 110-1030CA
Hello, I have an HP mini. Wireless worked flawlessly on Linux Mint ME Gnome 'Gloria' but not on Linux Mint CE KDE 'Gloria'. I don't really understand why. Following http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php/MintWifi I got to the part where I needed to get the driver. This confused me. I don't have the...

Re: Installing Mint 7 KDE via USB error
SOLVED. I have no idea what unetbootin's problem was. As per the last link I reformatted my stick and I made it only 2 or so gigs so I didn't have a bunch of free space and used a different USB port just in case. I don't know if the free space caused a problem or not. I'll try it without the free s...

If I am insane--as evident by my having a conversation just with myself--I might as well continue.

After it loads /casper/initrd.gz it says Loading, please wait... Then it loads the BusyBox built-in shell (ash) (Ubuntu 1:1.10.2ub...

Re: Installing Mint 7 KDE via USB error
When I searched earlier I missed this thred: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=3250 The problem is that obviously the DVD wasn't copied over. I suspect that I simply need to mount the ISO and copy over the files. A hassle but doable. I'll let you all know if this works. Any other ...

[SOLVED] Installing Mint 7 KDE via USB error
Good day all, So, I want to get Gloria KDE running on my systems. Why waste a CD? Install it with a reusable USB drive. Also, my other computer is a netbook with no CD/DVD drive, so I kind of have to use a USB drive. The problem is that I can get it to boot off my USB stick. I've done this with the ...
Re: KDE 4.3
My hope is that Gloria KDE is going to work well that I'll be able to afford to wait for whatever the next release on Linux Mint will be called.

Re: Linux Mint 7 'Gloria' KDE released!
Hello all, Download now, but I'm surprised to see that it's over a gig. Why with the KDE CE almost double the size of the regular old Gnome? Kubuntu isn't double the size of Ubuntu, so I'm a little surprised. I was kind of counting on it being one gig to load on this one gig stick I have. My 1 gig s...

Re: web design
does anybody know a good linux mint web design program? Actually you might want to be a little more specific. What kind of web design program? Many people who use Linux like to do a lot of coding by hand--actually using HTML not using a WYSIWYG program. I assume you used to use a program in whateve...
Re: KDE 4.3
So, seeing as Gloria will be my first run with Linux Mint, I want an authentic Linux Mint experience. Does this imply that I should not upgrade via the Ubuntu repo listed above, and wait for it to be released for Gloria? Will I lose any of the customizations?

Re: Mono in KDE CE?
I just think it is a little funny that we have come full circle. Now KDE is indisputably a "free" DE in every sense of the word, and Gnome is flirting with mono. Arguably a "non-free," potentially patented technology. I noticed the irony as well. Until now, I've been wondering i...

Re: Please NO mono in Mint
Technically speaking you can remove mono and because of dependencies you'll also have to remove tomboy, and the Linux Mint meta-packages. Thank you. I plan on using the KDE CE, which I assume does not come with Tomboy. But what do you mean the Linux Mint meta-packages? Aren't those needed for... Li...

Mono in KDE CE?
Good day everyone! As I'm sure you all know there are rather intense feelings surrounding Mono these days. At the risk are starting a flame war, may I ask if Mono is installed in the KDE CE? I've noticed the 4 programs every uses to say how needed mono is--F-Spot, TomBoy, Gnome-Do, Banshee--are all ...

Re: Please NO mono in Mint
There is an awful lot of hate in this thread towards people who don't want to use Mono. I have to say this is one of the more civil discussions I've read, but that doesn't mean it is civil. (Subtle difference, I know.) The people who have suggested it be removed were all quite civil, as are have of ...

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
Generally there is one release candidate, the community tests it out and the bugs are fixed. When the final release comes out an upgrade path from the release candidate to the final is made available. Interesting. I find that odd because I would have assumed that you want to make another release ca...

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
I'm new to Linux Mint. I was wondering if you have multiple release candidates or if you just use the one until all the bugs seem to be fixed? Or does it depend on how serious the bugs are? Or are there multiple RC being released?
