Re: [Solved] Re: Chromium webcam problems

Apparently release 117 of Chromium has a fix so in the meantime avoiding the flags as explained above should be a suitable temporary fix. If it continues in 117, I'll file a bug report. I just updated Chromium to 117 and the webcam video works perfectly for me "out of the box". Mdspencer_...

Re: Chromium webcam problems

Excellent, thanx for the info. and the effort Apparently the cause of the issue is related to these flags: --video-capture-use-gpu-memory-buffer --enable-native-gpu-memory-buffers They are added in the script in /usr/bin/chromium. I think the Mint packagers may need to be made aware of the issue... ...

Re: Chromium webcam problems

As part of the diagnostics, I was asked to add --disable-video-capture-use-gpu-memory-buffer as a flag when starting Chromium. With this flag, the cameras work fine. A further ticket update may explain why this works and whether it is a regression. For the time being if you have the same problem, t...

Re: [SOLVED] Latest Grub update has killed my boot drive

I also had this same problem as a result of a the latest grub2 package update. The update went uneventfully so I was surprised at this result. I assumed that I was not the only one with this problem so I came here and found this thread. Taking the advice of this thread, I booted my Live USB of my OS...

Thanx andy! :D My DSM software version is 3.2-1922 dated September 2011. I think SMB 1 is enabled by default. In addition my configuration page looks much different from yours. Re: Help connecting to Network resource LM21 Cinnamon

I mount my synology via a cifs mount in fstab. Reasonably straightforward to setup. Have been doing it that way since LM17.3. If it is not connecting with SMB, e.g. nemo smb://diskstation.local , it will be because you haven't enabled SMB 1.0 in LM21 (disabled for security reasons) or the min/max p...

Re: Help connecting to Network resource LM21C64

Anybody??? I moved your topic to Networking because it is a networking issue. What is LM21C64? ...maybe it is Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon 64-bit? You are correct. Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon desktop. I realize that the 64 bit part is probably superfluous or non-useful... I originally posted in the Network se...

Re: Anyone put Mint on an Intel NUC?

As a Floridian, I understand that my electrical utility can be prone to occasional, seemingly random, short (5 seconds to 5 minutes) outages... as a result, every computer that doesn't have a built in battery is plugged into a UPS. This includes my cable TV box and my internet modem/router. For smal...

Re: [PSA] LM19C kernel update to 4.15.0.177.166 borked my keyboard

Follow up: A kernel upgrade was offered today in Mint Update so I tried it - I upgraded (on one of the two machines in question) the kernel to 4.15.0. 180 .189.
