Re: Router firewall blocking Linux from accessing the internet

The first thing that would need doing is figuring out if thread title is in fact correct; whether or not you diagnosed your issue correctly, and unfortunately there's no information provided with which to do so. I.e., in what sense is / do you feel you are "being blocked from connecting to the inte...

Router firewall blocking Linux from accessing the internet

I just recently started with Linux Mint, I have mint 19.3 installed on a flash drive, at home it works perfectly fine, but when I try it in my office Linux cannot connect to the internet. It seems to be that the router in my office is blocking Linux from connecting to the internet. I know that it is...

Re: How to install linux to USB that will boot in BIOS or UEFI without disabling secure boot

As for secure boot, no-USB-boot is default everywhere and not waivable in any enterprise environment I've seen. You're expected to carry your own computer. Family and friends generally will let you change boot order, but they'll also let you modify secure boot. You just want this cuz it sounds cool...

Re: How to install linux to USB that will boot in BIOS or UEFI without disabling secure boot

Figured as such but just wanted to confirm before trying it and finding out that I wasted my time. I wasted much time trying to get it installed correctly on a USB before I found your tutorial. I have some previous experience with Linux, but until now I was only using it live and decided that it's f...

Re: How to install linux to USB that will boot in BIOS or UEFI without disabling secure boot

Thank you I will try it when I have time and post back what happens. Just to be clear, I will need to set up two boot partitions, one for BIOS and one for UEFI, and I should put the BIOS partition at the beginning before the UEFI partition? I'm assuming I should make it the same size as the UEFI par...

Re: mint 19.3 cinnamon only offering oem install?

Sorry for the long delay... work called. I downloaded direct from the Linux Mint official site. And when I clicked on the install icon from the live session, I still only had the OEM option. I just had a similar thing just happen with Mint 19.3 I downloaded the ISO from the official site, and when ...
