Re: Timeshift insufficient disk space

Problem Solved thanks to Laurent85 : form the return of : inxi -SM ls /sys/firmware efibootmgr df -Th cat /etc/fstab sudo lsblk -o name, size, fstype, parttype he understood the PC has no UEFI, the /boot/efi partition was created by mistake... I settled that by correcting the fstab file : xed admin:/et...

Re: Timeshift insufficient disk space

Ok It's a googd idea to make a partition for Timeshift's backups. Thanks
My main problem stays : do you think Windows will boot if I erase and recreate le /boot/efi partition on an other HD ?

Re: Timeshift insufficient disk space

Here's what I plan to do : 1 Empty the hard drive containing the / boot / efi partition and temporarily put its contents elsewhere 2 erase all its partitions and format it in NTFS (so it can also be used under windows) 3 Reinstall LMDE by creating a / boot / efi partition on my new hard drive Questi...

Re: Timeshift bug espace disque

Re: Timeshift insufficient disk space

Thanks to your advice, JerryF, I tried BackinTime and, as it were backupping, I realised that, as I asked it to save the / partition, it was also saving an other whole hard drive witch I'm using to store docs (NTFS)... So I stopped it and looked a little closer and I discovered a /boot/efi partition...

Re: Timeshift bug espace disque

Bon, je n'arrive toujours pas à voir ce qui cloche...
Je me dis que je vais peut-être désinstaller Timeshift...
Il y a d'autres applications qui peuvent faire des sauvegardes comme timeshift ?

Re: Timeshift insufficient disk space

No, in my setting /home in not inclued (you have the screenshot in one of my previous posts) I tryed with "inclued hidden" as you said... nothing changed... As of now, it seems that Timeshift is trying to backup it's own directory of backups, hence the warning of such a large number. I don...

Re: Timeshift insufficient disk space

I'm not shure I understand what "mounting" means but, as I said in my first post : The installer automatically created me: 4.4GB swap partition a partition / with 30 GB a partition / home with the rest everything on a 500GB brain new SSD... And I try to tell Timeshift to save backups to /h...

Re: Timeshift insufficient disk space

Timeshift re-installed... not better... Either you've changed one of the default settings, you're mounting partitions in a non-standard location, or the app has lost its mind. I didn't change default settings what do you mean by "mounting partitions in a non-standard location" ? I'm not sh...
