Re: Save File dialog standard behavior - Annoying - You think you enter file name, but you're not [SOLVED]
Thank you smurphos, for clarifying this issue to be a bug in GTK and for filing an issue to the GTK developers. I fully understand the feature in the GTK save dialog of being able to type characters to filter the content of a folder to look for certain file names, but having the file name still high...

Re: Save File dialog standard behavior - Annoying - You think you enter file name, but you're not
Yes smurphos. You described the problem perfectly. Here's an example: If I right click on this very page in Firefox and pick the option "Save Page as..." the "Save as"-dialog pops up. A default file name is selected/highlighted in the name-textfield at the top of the dialog windo...

Save File dialog standard behavior - Annoying - You think you enter file name, but you're not [SOLVED]
Linux Mint Cinnamon newbee here: So I'm using Save File dialog and I think that I'm entering the file name but instead I'm apparently searching for files starting with the characters I enter. I guess it might be me coming from the Windows world, but I have a hard time getting used to this. I keep on...

Re: Installation System encryption suspiciously fast
"Required to enter the paraphrase..." - I guess you refer to the input field labeled "Please unlock disk sda5_crypt" that pops up when I reboot the machine. Yes, my computer behaves as it's system has been encrypted, but I'm just looking for an independent way to verify that the ...

Installation System encryption suspiciously fast [solved]
How can Mint installation including full hard disk (244 GB SSD) encryption only take around 10 minutes? And I specifically checked a box to overwrite unused sectors even though there was a warning that it could take a lot longer. I remember I used to encrypt my whole hard drive (windows 7) with True...

Re: Nemo filepath no longer clickable elements
Your description wasn't, for some reason, applicable to my setup. I don't have that header - Tab "Manage" - under Applet. But your answer led me in the right direction, so I found the relevant setting. I right clicked an icon in the bottom panel > Preferences > Configure Now a settings-win...

Re: Nemo filepath no longer clickable elements
OMG Karl. You're right. That was fast. You solved it.
Had no idea that was an optional setting.
Thank you.

Nemo filepath no longer clickable elements
Linux Mint 19.3 + Cinnamon 4.4.8 Yesterday my filehandler Nemo stopped showing the filepath in clickable parts but instead just a long string of characters with slashes inbetween folder names. Like this /My folder/My subfolder/My subsubfolder/ Before I could click on any part of the filepath. I can ...
