if so

Code: Select all

apt install libgl1-mesa-glx
I have dual 680 GTX's

The package you mentioned is already installed and the latest version, so no joy there.

Re: Steam LMDE

It's still busted for me after UP7. It calls for libGL.so.1. It then crashes with the error message, "Fatal Error: Failed to load steamui.so" So frustrating.

Re: Network scanning does not work MFC-490CW

I gave the web a cavity search. The fruits of my labor allowed me to get USB scanning working fine. However, network scanning is still busted, and I don't have the time or energy to get it all puzzled out. I'll have to chalk this one up to computer gremilns and the like.

Re: DivX and Codec-V?

Turns out Codec-V is a very malicous advert that many of the video viewing sites are using now. For the meantime, I am avoiding the sites that allow avertising for that, and staying in the virus free realms of Linux. Marking as solved.

Re: Updates are now extremely slow

I have managed to get it working for the moment by switching which of the US servers that the updates are pulled down from. It's still quite slow but it does work. However, I found when I was playing around with Bodhi Linux the other day that Ubuntu has many servers inside of china, some even hosted...

Re: HP Deskjet Ink Advantage k109a-z driver issue

I actually don't remember if that worked or not lol. I have solved the issue by converted the xp box to a lm13 box. Now I don't have any printing issues per say. More that I have frustrations because the network at my work is so poor I can't use it well. Marking as solved.

Network scanning does not work MFC-490CW

I have a Brother workstation that is "supposed" to be network printing and scanning capable. The printing is working fine, but the scanning has been a nightmare to try and get working. I've tried all the solutions from brother, i've added the printer module to my sane rules file, i've copied the mis...

Re: Updates are now extremely slow

Well, it's been a few weeks now and the situation hasn't really improved. Even when I try to connect to the one mainland china ftp update server it's very slow and doesn't resolve all the repos. I've also tried Japan and Taiwan, still no dice. I hope the powers that be read this and think about addi...

Re: Updates are now extremely slow

That is an encouraging thought, but this issue started after LM12 was released but some time before LM13 or even Ubuntu 12.04 were released... I think. If you are right the situation should clear itself up in a few weeks. If not, then I'm still at square one. I've noticed that debian has mainland ch...

Big drop in wireless signal under Mint 13

I've got Mint 13 up and running, and it's a beauty of a system. One thing that I have noticed though is that my wireless signal strength took quite a hit. My router sits about 2 meters away from my wireless antenna, and there are no obstructions between the two. Under Mint 12, I was consistently pul...

Updates are now extremely slow

Up until recently, updates being pulled from the repos came down pretty fast and easily. In the last few weeks however, the pace of download has slowed to a crawl. I've tried running the server test, and even when the "best" server is selected, it still downloads at a crawl. My suspecion is that the...

*Sigh*... issue is not fixed. From what I can tell mint-meta-codecs is installed correctly, but I still don't have DivX support. Any takers?

Re: DivX and Codec-V?

I fixed the issue. I had to install the package libavifile-0.7c2. I'm not sure if that package is included in mint-meta-codecs, but as soon as I installed it the codec messages went away and the web content started playing as normal.

Re: DivX and Codec-V?

After further research, I think this is linked to the mint-meta-codecs package. For some reason even though I have already installed it, it still has an option to install on the welcome screen. That in turn, makes me think that it did not install correctly. Does anyone know how to completely remove ...

DivX and Codec-V?[SOLVED]

Been trying to watch some videos online and I keep running into two issues: 1. I try to watch the video and my browser reports back I need to install a Codec-V.... some spyware ridden windows "codec" to play the video. 2. This may be related to issue 1, but my browsers are reporting that the DivX pl...

Well, it's still not showing up as it should, though I was manually able to install the various packages I needed to make IBUS work via Synaptic.

[Solved]IBUS not showing up as a language input option LM12

I've installed two language packs that require IBUS: Mandarin Chinese(Mainland) and Traditional Chinese(Taiwan and Hong Kong). The packs seems to have installed fine but when I go to add the IBUS keyboard input under language settings the option is not there. I've tried some logouts, reboots, uninst...

Re: hma vpn not working, LM 10 and LM 11

Thank you, but I found a way to make it work using network manager long ago. The linux client provided by HMA still doesn't work for me when using that command. Nevertheless, I will mark this as solved since I found an alternate solution.

HP Deskjet Ink Advantage k109a-z driver issue[SOLVED]

I'm trying to get my mint11 box to network print to a winxp box. I've got the networking figured out and my mint11 box can see the printer attached via USB to the winxp box via samba. I can install the driver from the driver database using the printer setup wizard and the wizard completes successful...
