Re: Corona virus (COVID-19)

I really don't know what to think about this situation. People are scared silly. Fighting over toilet paper, come on everyone. There are signs posted everywhere in the small town I live in, basically saying to be courteous to people and stay out of their space. I haven't had people avoid me like thi...

Re: Daylight Savings Time, Like it or Hate it?

It doesn't really make any difference where I live, it is only dark for a few hours in mid summer. It does not make much sense here on the plains. I lived in a border town that did not change and was fine with it. Sure freaked out out of town customers at the dealership I worked at.

Re: After using Facebook for 10 years I finally deleted my account

I wish I could delete my account. Most of my family and friends are so ingrained in the system, they will never leave. I too stopped posting and only communicate with them using messenger, SMS and voice calls. I got sick of "friends" sending requests/invitations to thing that were obviously fake, o...

Re: Living in the Rural Outback and LTE modems

I am moving to a rural location in the near future and the only internet access will be using an AT&T compatible LTE modem. My nephew says he plays online games no problem. I didn't ask which games, I'm thinking Overwatch style. I know that I won't be buying any software online, hard copies only. Yo...

Re: Hello.... Is it me you're looking for?

Glad to see you are going to give it another go. Like you, I too have used Linux in the past. (Red Hat, Corel, Free BSD...) I was never able to truly dual boot with any vesion of windows, aside from a virtual machine. I did use the method you are now using but was never able to find something stable...

Re: A possible starter laptop for linux?

Hey MurphCID If you are not adverse to using something pre-owned, there are plenty of nice computers on Eboy. You might even find something locally that will fit the bill. I am using one with a Celeron B820 (2 cores), 4GB ram, 500GB hdd with integrated graphics, and have no problems what so ever. No...

Buh bye Windows

Hello, it"s time to finally ditch the Windows issue. I have used/owned every version, yes even ME and Vista. I have been using the internet since it was free and command line based. I have tried many versions of Linux in the past and always found them kind of clunky and hard to use just one version ...
