Re: Bodhi Linux - Enlightenment Ubuntu Based Distro

Thanks for the positive words - be sure to let us know how you like it. We are well past our stable release now and have had two "point" or "update" releases since then. In addition to our focus on the desktop we also have a setup geared towards tablet PCs: http://www.youtube.com...

Re: Linux Mint E17

If you test the mint tools in Bodhi and they work well, link me to the deb packages/repo you get them from and I'll be happy to get them added/built into the default Bodhi repo.

Are you using Mint 10? If so replace "lucid" with "maverick" in that package name.

Re: Creating a Text Plymouth

What does create a text based start up theme mean? You want to create your own theme with some special text? or you just want the standard text only boot messages? I can tell you how to do the latter but not the former. I meant exactly what I said. I want to create a text based fall back for plymou...

Creating a Text Plymouth

Does anyone other this know how (or know of a guide that details how) to create a text based start up theme for plymouth? I have some older hardware and I'd like to do something custom up there.

Never said other distros didn't. I simply stated that having a 64bit port doubles the work of the distro maintainers - that is why there is yet to be 64bit Bodhi.

Re: Bodhi Linux hits Beta - Enlightenment Ubuntu Based Distr

Tho I'm not a maintainer so I cannot size up the task, 8 years seems a long time, esp if Linux has been targeting the server market. Not many 32 bit servers out there.... So I'll wait to try out Bodhi when there's a 64 bit version. :| -Hinto Are you trolling? :P Where did 8 years come from? Where d...

Re: Bodhi Linux hits Beta - Enlightenment Ubuntu Based Distr

Maintaining a 64bit build in addition to our 32bit doubles the amount of packaging work the team and I would have to do. As such do not expect a 64 bit build before early summer.

Re: Bodhi Linux hits Beta - Enlightenment Ubuntu Based Distr

Hi Jeff, after my earlier comment I gave Bodhi a try and I must say it was a very enlightening experience. The desktop was really fast and very responsive. I had a problem with networking though. The internet connection would not start automatically at startup and I had to keep entering the details...

A little bit puzzled by the reference E17,isnt that the current release of Elive? A distro USING the Enlightenment window manager? The best Distro Using Enlightenment so far (IMHO) is PCLinuxOS (along with most other WM's)-and there is plenty of support on their excellent Forum. http://www.pclinuxo...

Re: Enlightenment Desktop? If Gnome tanks.

Fonts are easily adjusted, go to fonts under settings to adjust them. You said you found the menu... Applications appear, well under applications after installing - just like on any other linux desktop.

As for install things - check out the Bodhi Software Page.
