Is ther...

[Solved] 32 bit to 64 bit KDE reinstall.
I am running the 32 bit Mint 8 KDE now, with a separate root and a separate home partition. My question is, can I install the 64 bit version of Mint 8 KDE and just format the root partition and leave the home partition alone. Will there be anything left over in the home partition that will cause pro...

[Solved] Which app downloads if you have 64 bit Mint?
Assuming you have the 64 bit version of Mint Helena and you go to Synaptic to download some apps, do you get the 32 bit version or 64 bit version if there is one. The reason I ask is, a friend of mine has opensuse 64 bit and when he downloads apps it show that 64 bit apps are being downloaded. So I ...

[Solved] KDE 4.3 64 bit?
Just out of curiosity, will there ever be a KDE 4.3 64 bit?
I tried out a couple of live cd's and really like KDE 4.3, but would like to stay with Mint.
Right now my OS is Mint Gloria 64 and I am really loving it.
Anyway just curious, and keep up the good work guys whether for Mint or KDE.

Re: [Resolved]-Can I switch to kernel 2.6.30?
Just to let everyone know, I went ahead and reinstalled mint 7 using the X_64 Gnome version, then found and installed the 3 .deb files for kernel 2.6.30 and installed, rebooted and have been happy ever since. Have been on the new kernel and X_64 for about 10 days now and no problems. This is on an H...

[Solved] Can I switch to kernel 2.6.30?
I have installed Mint 7 (32 bit) (kernel 2.6.28) on my HP (DV6626US) laptop. Everything is working just great and I am wondering how safe is it to install the new 2.6.30 kernel?
Would there be any repercussions I should be aware of?
BTW - Great distro and many cudos to the Mint team.
