My tweaked ubuntu 8.04 with 2.6.24-23 booted 24 seconds according bootchart, ubuntu 8.04 with 2.6.27 booted 27 seconds ... So I think that best solution for better boot times is compile own kernel, only with essential elements for your pc, and tweak services,which start during boot.

Screenshot of your imagine looks very nice but Window theme should be different. I think that better would be Axe theme from xfce-look or sth similary,sth more simple :wink:. I used aero cursor without shadow. I untar it to /usr/share/icons.

Daryna is old release I think that ellysa 'll solved your wifi problems. And can you give lspci output here?

Defualt XFCE cursor is ugly so I installed aero look cursor from xfce-look.org. I set it but I have a problem with this new cursor,it doesn't work at all. I found some similar problems on ubuntuforum.org but there aren't tips,which work. Has someone idea how it fix? thx
