I might just have to order one of these. With Mint of course. Is it the Cinnamon DE?
Yes, comes with Cinnamon. At least that's what my email order details said.

Re: a Laptop manufacturer that has jumped on the Linux bandwagon

Couldn't resist. I just preordered a Mk IV with LM 20. Delivery in a little over 3 weeks. I've been running LM 20 on a 5 year old macbook pro and it runs quite well, but the keyboard/trackpad nuances/headaches, intermittent wifi, and no webcam detected pushed me to buy. Been considering buying new D...

Re: LM 20 & Cinnamon Battery Panel

Update to the problem. This is apparently a long-standing problem with MBPs. I've discovered that the power management applet is using the wrong parameter when calculating the remaining power percentages. It's supposed to use charge_now divided by charge_full. Instead it's using charge_full_design i...

LM 20 & Cinnamon Battery Panel

Have a frustrating question. Running LM 20/Cinnamon on a 5 yo MCP 12,1 laptop. Turned on option to display battery percentages in panel. However, the percentages never reflect actual power levels. For example, when the battery is fully charged, the power % in panel shows 66%. Never gets higher than ...

Re: Touchpad only partially working on Mint 19.3 XFCE

I switched to synaptics driver and works much better.

apt install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
then logout and log back in.

If it makes the problem worse, then uninstall via: apt remove xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

Re: mac camera not working

Installed LM20 on a MBP 12,1 and have the same issue. MS Teams & Cheese both say no camera detected. Everything else works great.

Re: Xerox Phaser 3100MFP USB

I had problem with installing a 3300MFP for LM 19.3. Tried to use the LM recommended printer for the install but it wouldn't work. Kept getting errors. To resolve, I had to manually point the LM Printer app to use the ph3300.ppd driver file when adding the new printer vs letting the app use the reco...

SOLVED - 8GB vs 16GB RAM Question. What Would You Do?

I have a nearly 6 yo desktop that I recently switched from windows to LM 19.3 Cinnamon. It has two 2GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM memory modules installed in a gigabyte dual-channel motherboard with a 1tb drive (I built the PC). LM is running too slow for my tastes. Htop shows I'm typically at 80-90%% RAM u...

SOLVED - Thunderbird & Language Pack Dependency Problem

Running LM 19.3. Getting a detected problem notification where it says "The following localization packages are missing to properly support your language: thunderbird-locale-en". So I click on the "Install the Language Packs" button. Another window opens and says "Package dependencies cannot be reso...

Xerox Unified Driver App Question

I did a clean install of 19.3 on PC. I'n not a super Linux expert, but know enough to get by. Everything is fine from OS install. Have an older Phaser 3300MFP printer that I wanted to direct print via USB connection (not a network printer). Downloaded the Linux driver install app from Xerox website....

Re: Automatic Partition Option Install Question

I have used "Erase disk & install" precisely once: when I installed Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala for the very first time. Ever since I have always selected "Do something else", because this is the only installation type, which grants control over what is going to happen to me. Downside: I have to tell ...

Thanks for the reply. I'm a techie with advanced CS degrees, plus spent last 25 years working in IT, which included HW support. So very knowledgable about partitioning for windows, mac, and unix OSs. Just haven't installed mint yet. Installing mint on my wife's windows computer, which I hand-built a...

[Solved] Automatic Partition Option Install Question

Installing 19.3 onto PC and wish to wipe the entire drive for the install. My question is what partitions get created if i choose "Erase Disk & Install Mint"? Done a ton of searching here and on Internet, but all I can find is it creates one "/" partition for root and home and also creates a swap fi...
