Re: LMDE 4 Partitioning
Dear All, I'm wondering if there's a step by step guide regarding LMDE installation, especially how to set proper partitions. To be precised it's about Laptop with 8GB RAM and 480 GB SSD disk, whole disk is assigned to Linux, no windows needed. I know that there's a automatic partitioning step, but...

Re: Reinstall LMDE and restore settings
1. If you have a separate home partition all your user settings should have remained intact after the reinstall. 2. Back up your sources list so you can restore it to /etc/apt and the key rings in the trusted directory, or better the entire /etc/apt directory. 3. Back up anything else in /etc that ...

... proper partitions. There's no one-size-fits-all answer to that question. A single partition for everything is the simplest solution, and arguably the best solution for newbies. Once you start splitting things up, there are lots of options and lots of opinions. Plus, much depends on how you're g...

[Solved] External DVD burner
Hi,
Would you recommend me an external DVD burner fully supported by LMDE which also likes many different kinds of DVDs. Mine doesn't like to burn JVC discs or some DL, as well.
Thx,

Re: Modeprobe: module dm-raid45 not found in modules.dep
Hello Antikythera, thanks for your answer. I just executed command: sudo apt-get purge dmraid and it did solve the issue. BTW: During initramfs regeneration I found such comment: I: The initramfs will attempt to resume from /dev/dm-1 I: (/dev/mapper/lvmlmde-swap) I: Set the RESUME variable to overri...

[Solved] Modeprobe: module dm-raid45 not found in modules.dep
Hi Guys,
I know that it's known bug and I found many solutions for it. However, before I mess up something I would ask you what is the proper solution to solve this issue.
It appears during the boot, although system works fine.
Thanks,

Re: Where can I report a system failure?
Thanks Smurphos for your answers. What I know is that decrypting home folder is quite problematic, so I guess I won't use encryption during the next fresh install of LMDE.
I have some other issues to work with, but I'll create another post in forum to have an order here
