Re: How to uninstall Windowx XP from dual boot

If you're 100% sure you want to dump Windoze off that PC and you don't want to re-install Mint, you can use the GParted utility and delete the NTFS partition, create a new partition using all of the available space from the NTFS part you just deleted, and format it as an ext3 file system. Re: how turn off shuttdown sounds in linux mint 7

Many thanks for posting this. I usually shutdown using the "shutdown -P now" command and I've gotten into the habit of pre-cringing right before I push the enter key and have to suffer hearing that annoying beep blasting through my tiny laptop speakers (or worse) headphones

Re: Mint versus Ubuntu

Not sure if this will solve your exact problem or not but I would try installing ndiswrapper (if it's not already installed) again. You may have to blacklist the Mint 7 drivers that your wifi card is currently using. I won't post that info here as it is available in dozens of other forums. http://fo...

Re: how do I connect to internet

I'm not quite sure what you mean by: "my netmask is changing from 255.255.255.0 to 24". Do you mean 24 bit? 255.255.255.0 is a 24 bit mask, however, I'm not quite sure if you are referring to something different. So a few things you can try to check connectivity: I would probably get rid of the prox...

Re: Random

If you're referring to running a multiple OS box and using the GRUB loader to choose between different OS's upon boot-up, this forum should point you in the right direction. http://mintguides.blogspot.com/2008/08/howto-dual-boot-linux-mint-5-and.html I'm running Linux Mint 6, Windoze XP, and 98 all ...

Re: Linux Mint: Re-Imagined

I've been looking for a simple wallpaper like this for a while. Great job! Very elegant. This is now one of my favorite (top 5) wallpapers. :D

Re: Newbie knows he will mess up how to uninstall and reinstall

You can make a Mint boot disk by going to http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php and downloading the latest Linux Mint ISO image (currently version 7 - Gloria) and burn that onto a CD. Or if your PC's BIOS will support booting from a flashdrive I would download the latest ISO image and follow the ins...
