Re: import_mok_state() failed: not found

You should be able to keep windows. Secure Boot in bios Disable Fast start (aka quick boot aka fast boot) in the bios, and while in bios change RST to AHCI. Then boot into windows and disable faststartup: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-windows-10-fast-startup https://forums.linuxmint.com...

Re: Completely removing Wine and installing correctly

I tell people to forget about Wine and just install Play-on-Linux instead. POL works good for me for the hand full of old windows programs I run. I find that most of the time people do not take my advice on POL - perhaps because they need the real Wine for games, or perhaps there is another reason. ...

Is this a laptop with only 1 drive in it? Ideally it would be a desktop where you could insert a separate SSD for the LM install.
Do we need to keep the windows install?

Re: Can't get into setup

Hey, so I've been trying to install linux mint on my computer for a few weeks now. But when I boot into my usb it just sits on the linux mint logo. When I press escape, I see all the things it's loading, but it keeps failing to load the light display manager. What I've googled only seems to happen ...

What browser do you use for general web browsing, and why do you use it? Firefox, because it works well. What settings do you change on your browser? Turn off everything, including cookies. I suggest you start Update Manager and try the 6.5 kernel.

It is interesting that you are using 52 GB of your RAM

Re: Odd new Boot, Shutdown, Suspend, and Wake notes

Should I be concerned about any of these things? My thinking is No. I didn't see anything to worry about. If you system is running well, just ignore them even though they are new to you. pam_ecryptfs: seteuid error This one caught my eye, but I think this says it is not important either: https://fo...

Re: Error during boot and suspend heavy drain

Hello and welcome to the forum. Judging by this: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=306139 Do you need a new battery? I would say No. Do you need another kernal? I say try the 6.5 kernel in Update Manager just for the heck of it. Are we sure the machine is not waking up from suspend on its...

where all I see is the LM system with the black background
If you see LM in green letters on a black background then hit Esc and report what it hangs on.

Re: Linux mint installer crashes every time

I would encourage you to do a lot of testing in the Live Boot before you install. Does everything work well there and it will run for 30+ minutes with no problems? Internet and sound work well? Your computer is extremely new. What drive are you trying to install to? Are you doing erase and install? ...

Until recently I could run the games of "Big City Adventure" without any fails That makes me think of Timeshift. Create a snapshot. Restore an older snapshot. Does "Big City Adventure" work then? If so, selectively do updates to prevent breading POL. If not, you can always get b...

This is becoming tedious. Starting from a clean install of 21.3 each time This might reduce the tedium a bit. Install Timeshift and immediately after the install create a Timeshift snapshot and give it a label "Immediately after install". Then run all updates and create another Timeshift ...

Re: Flatpak space on disk

Lets see. I have 16 directories in /var/lib/flatpak/app . 33 Flatpak installs: $ flatpak list | wc -l 33 $ sudo du -sh /var/lib/flatpak/app gives 4.9 GB. sudo du -sh /var/lib/flatpak gives 12 GB. So maybe yours is a bit larger per app than mine, but in the same ballpark. I guess we are saying if you...
