Collen Makumbirofa at http://www.zimbabwehope.org/index.html had something going along that line. The costs of shipping are a barrier.

Re: So....Anyone Occupying anything?

The elderly gentleman parrots the identical line of propaganda issued by the suborned political protectors of the thieving bankers who deliberately made the situation. Imagine the fleeced, never even having seen the shaved coin - not even allowed to gaze upon it - confessing that it is his fault (an...

Re: Call Me Old School

Your blog article is to the point. Unfortunately, Linux on the desktop is not a "critical" item, as there is no money in it. If Linux was tied to hardware, it might be different. Windows and Apple leave about 1.2% of the desktop traffic to Linux. However, there will always be a Linux desktop, as lon...

Re: Release Date for Linux Mint 11 KDE

Bingo - but still a good spin (AbsoluteLinux). One could always install the Slackware KDE packages from the Slackware repo. The packages are simpatico. Not much point doing that though. Also, I haven't assumed who is or isn't a contributor to Mint. What I said was if you want KDE, send cash and send...

Re: Release Date for Linux Mint 11 KDE

Those who really want KDE Mint might consider coughing up some significant cash. I did a rough sum on donations and sponsorships and they show roughly $41k at this point in the year. The number demonstrates that Clem must be independently wealthy or simply loves Mint. He could be making 6 figures ea...

Re: User Guide's casual reference to root

The herd doesn't need Root. Folk flock to Ubuntu/Mint for a Windows-like experience. You got UAC in Windows. Here you get Faux Root. Enjoy! Try Centos or Slackware. Even Debian. Or AbsoluteLinux (I'm with "Sherm" about Root). You can always change the default runlevel in Debian. Or, stay in the herd...

Re: Mint #1 on Distrowatch (Last 1 Month)...

Every time Debian has a new stable release it jumps way up due to interest. Then they find out it's the same old Debian, non functioning, FreeDumb song and dance to to the likes of Stallman and co. Then people go somewhere like Ubuntu, Mint, Vector, Saline, Salix etc so they can load up, jump on th...

Re: Tiny Core Fraud on Source Forge!

Actually, the chap is NOT asking for donations, according to the SourceForge page, and never has. He opted out of receiving donations. TCL is GPLv2. "Activities other than copying, distribution and modification are not covered by this License; they are outside its scope. " If there is a copying, dis...

Re: the best KDE distro

Pardus 2009.2 has Wine 1.2. PARDUS 2011 does not yet have Wine in the repository. It likely wiil have Wine lastest stable when the 2011 Repos are complete, at which time 2009.2 can be rolled over to 2011. The lastest Wine source is available - http://www.winehq.org/ here. Since it is your box, you c...

Re: Minimise and maximise buttons recently removed from GNOM

Gnome is true to character. Read the complaint history. This is nothing new. If Linus called Gnome devs "ui ****" in 2005, perhaps he had a clue? Just take a large slug of Mono and go back to work. Don't worry about the Zimians. Why are you using Gnome anyway? Did Novell geld SuSE? Did Novell ...

Re: the best KDE distro

Slackware is good, but I've never tried wine on it. Slack is great - either_32 or _64. I've used Pardus for nearly 2 years, and it is neat and slick - rolling distro of sorts. You can install 2009.2 and wait for the upgrade, which should be painless, as in the past. Or, you can install 2011 now. Par...

In Firefox, type about:config in the address bar. There will be a warning but accept it anyway. Then, scroll down the list to network.dns.disable. ipv6 and click the line to "true".

Troy - if the partition(s) adjacent to the windows volume are empty, just right click the Windows volume and select extend. In Windows, using disc management.

Re: How to reclaim partition space (free space)

Troy - delete the partition you don't want. Then stretch the windows volume. You obviously deleted the partitions-linux. So, 1. delete the partition(s) with Gparted. 2. Then use Windows disc mgmt to stretch it. Do not reformat the old partition in Gparted. You can always format the unused partition ...

Re: How to reclaim partition space (free space)

AT - he would be likely better off to use PartedMagic/Gparted than the Disc Management. Too easy to go astray there. I was surprised he got back the MBR from the Win 7 disc. Cheer up - they are talking about Windows 8 now!

Re: How to reclaim partition space (free space)

AT meant go to: Control Panel>System & Security>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Storage>Disk Management in Win 7 and do it from there. Or, try typing- Disc Management -in search box under Start and save your clik finger. If Windows won't do what you want, download the latest PartedMagic fro...

Re: Dual Processor.

To check the integrity of the processors, you would use the host OS. If both processors are working in the host system, then you might try virtualbox.org for answers.
