Did not work on my system: Desktop, Intel I7-4771, Linux Mint 19.3 - Did get it to work by using the latest github version 5.6.1 by cilynx https://github.com/cilynx/rtl88x2bu - went to that github webpage and on the right there is a green clone or download button and chose "download zip" ...
