Re: Mint & Winblows tattoo art needed [nevermind]

What about the bat penguin in a ripped skin effect outline? If not that, the cog but more realistic looking or steampunk one with a few smaller ones around it? Sorry for the delayed reply, had my head stuck in (a) Python that last few days. ;) I like both your ideas, I think I'll tinker with em. :)

It's off topic, but I thought you might get a kick out of these: viewtopic.php?p=1842522#p1842522
Those are pretty cool. I saw one similar where Tux was on "this side" of the window, blasting a giant hole in it with a rocket launcher.

Re: Mint & Winblows tattoo art needed [nevermind]

Yeah, the Windows logo looks crap but it's an improvement over the last one. Here's the full logo set going back to the year dot (2000 is still my favourite design) Well, after much searching, I think I've settled on one of two designs...nothing at all like what I originally had in mind. I'm leanin...

Re: Mint & Winblows tattoo art needed

Fair enough but any Tattoo artist worth bothering with should be able to come up with a decent concept if you explain it to them with a simple sketch and give them both Tux and the current Windows logo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tux_(mascot)#/media/File:Tux_Enhanced.svg Actually there's a brand...

I believe that falls under the artistic license category. I like the peeing idea, but it just doesn't cover my sentiments like the loser L does. 8)

Mint & Winblows tattoo art needed [nevermind]

I realize this forum is about artwork for Mint, but I couldn't find a better place to post this request. Sadly, my art skills are next to none. I've been thinking about a tattoo I'd like to get, and I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to design it for me. What I'd like is Tux standing be...

For guitar players - ZOOM Guitar Lab

This info comes from WineDB: https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=33304 That post deals with Guitar Lab v5, but the same process works for v7 as well. If you have a ZOOM guitar effects processor, then you've likely tried to install their Guitar Lab software under wine...and failed with t...

Re: [Just Sharing] Script For Backing Up My Home Folder

Thanks for sharing that! I'm just a noob tinkerer, myself, so this looks like something I could learn a lot from and play around with. At the very least, I'm confident that I'll find countless ways to break it.

Re: Metered or not metered?

Appreciate you checking in on that, but my daughter is not going to move one inch from where she is now. she is not interest in learning new things. That's too bad. The grass really is greener on this side of the fence, isn't it? ;) My wife was the same way until I asked her to just humour me. I sa...

Re: Metered or not metered?

@ AZgl1500: Just checked. PlayOnLinux supports MS Office versions 2010, 2013, & 2016. It's in the install menu, accessible by clicking the "Office" button at the top. Hope this helps. EDIT: I'm sure it goes without saying, but don't forget to install "Microsoft Core Fonts" un...

Re: Metered or not metered?

No risk, metered connection features are there for people on data plans with monthly caps to keep an eye on their allowance usage and stop using so much of it. SWEEEET! Thanks for the info! So it makes sense that my speed has actually increased then? On my daughter's Win10 laptop, every time they r...

Re: Metered or not metered?

To the ISP, it makes sense that at a higher speed users may lose track of their accumulated usage and thus get charged extra for exceeding their monthly download/upload allowance! ;) Thanks for the reply. I understand. Since I have an unlimited usage package, this isn't a concern for me. YAY! :D

Metered or not metered? [SOLVED]

Hi folks. I wonder if anyone can tell me the pros/cons of NOT using a metered connection. I've researched this topic, but didn't find anything I could understand (99% of it related to windows). So, just out of curiosity, I disabled the metered connection and my internet speed seems so much faster. D...

Re: Thank you to those supporting others here!

Mr. Een has been a godsend for me. Weird audio issues that seemed to require "try this" after "try this" after "try this". He never lost his patience and never gave up. He was right there every step of the way, and his responses were fast. Way above the call of duty, if...

Re: More new toys courtesy of People with Attitudes

That's disgusting, the way you were treated. Nothing gets my back up more than ungrateful & abusive people...nobody should have to tolerate that in a paying job, but even less in a volunteer situation. As the recipient of the same sort of treatment myself (on many occasions), I understand how hu...
