Re: Mate repos

I suppose my question is a bit more general than I made it:
Which repositories (includin Nadia) should I be using. I was having problems with a couple which seem to be no longer in use and I'd really just like a note of exactly what I need on my repository list.

Re: Where have my menu panels gone?

Ah, that would explain it.
I was following tips from another site:

Maybe I should just make sure I get my tips from here instead.

Re: Where have my menu panels gone?

Never mind, I'm reinstalling.
Can I assume this is just a bug in Nadia?

Where have my menu panels gone?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I've been installing Mint 14 MATE on two machines at the same time: the 64 bit version on a desktop and the 32 on a laptop. Last night the last thing I did on both was install the screenlets packages. On rebooting the laptop today I found I had lost all my...

Installing Dropbox

Now then, I'm looking to install Dropbox from the package manager and find two versions: nautilus-dropbox and nemo-dropbox. What's the difference and which should I choose?

Re: Help required with USB wireless LAN

No, I can't get this new driver to show its face at all - no connection if I blacklist the old one. Never mind it IS working now, just slow, I can live with it I guess.
Thank you very much for your help and advice, Albert, I've learned quite a bit from this.

Re: Help required with USB wireless LAN

Hello again. Yesterday I thought I'd check the integrity of the installation DVD I was using and installed Mint on my laptop - and got exactly the same errors. So I downloaded a fresh copy (This time of the 64 bit MATE version) and installed that instead. All much better! I'd still like, if possible...

Re: Help required with USB wireless LAN

Apparently I don't have gedit and I can't apt-get it because of broken packages. Perhaps an incomplete install.
I installed without internet connection - could this be the problem?

Re: Help required with USB wireless LAN

Well I'm now posting from the machine in question. I used make -k
and it seems to have worked.
Now, how can I check for a better driver?
(the connection is slow and unreliable but that may just be because of the distance from the modem).
