Re: Is it GRUB, UEFI, GPT? I don't know
Everything went excellent, until I decided to be able to see the GRUB menu, so I followed this tutorial https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/grub.html This means you changed a file on the operating system. Because you have since re-installed brand new, that change no longer exists ...

Re: when my PC idles, Mint crashes
I'm still waiting to hear whether it works if you leave them on. You have not given them enough time to prove doing that works. Only if it works can we investigate why have them turn off doesn't work.SweeTeaRex wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:53 pmyes, i am asking why doesnt it work when the monitors do turn off

When what turns off? You said you changed the setting for the monitors so they stay on.SweeTeaRex wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:46 pmI am talking about when it does turn off and i go to wake it, It freezes
The computer does not turn off when it suspends; it just goes to a lower power state.

Re: Cannot get my RX 7900XTX to display correctly
I have disabled my iGPU and did not see a "PRIME Synchronization" entry in my xrandr --verbose ... maybe this can help isolating the issue... PRIME Synchronization only shows when there are two GPUs active. That is why you would not be seeing it. Some older motherboards would automaticall...

Re: AMD Display Driver (Rembrandt) crashing too often
Have added archival of ~/.xsession-errors to a helper script since that gets annihilated often, and am watching that closely, while trying to unlearn my belief in what the problem is. The progression is .xession-errors gets moved to .xession-errors.old when a new .xession-errors is created. The def...

What do you mean when you say you "reactivate it"? What are you doing if the computer is not asleep and the monitors are on?SweeTeaRex wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 14, 2024 5:22 pmMy question then becomes, why is my PC freezing up when I go to reactivate it? Souldnt it be without freezing?

Re: Cannot get my RX 7900XTX to display correctly
It's not the fact the PRIME Synchronization exists which strikes me as unusual. That's common when there are two GPUs even if it is a desktop. What is unusual is I thought the PRIME Synchronization value should be 1 when the dGPU is the primary (which I presume it is because inxi sees it as Device-...

Re: Mint 22 Cinnamon Installation: Retrieving file 207 of 207 (Indefinitely)
I mainly have tried the NVME drive but I've also attempted to install on the other SSD and the HD to the same results. I'm actually using Linux Mint on my HP laptop which I'm using that same USB that installed Mint 22 on here; though I'll try to reflash and reverify the ISO. If the ISO has already ...

Re: AMD Display Driver (Rembrandt) crashing too often
I do think the BIOS update helped, but that there is a setting to be tuned, either in kernel flags, in application configurations, or in BIOS parameters. Any BIOS settings would relate to the motherboard you have and what BIOS/UEFI software they have running. Most of the mini-PCs do not have much i...

Re: Cannot get my RX 7900XTX to display correctly
You guessed correctly, based on xrandr's results, EDID is coming through for iGPU but not the dGPU. I presume you are using the exact same cable for either option which would mean the only difference is the GPU port. Is there more than one DP port on the 7900 XTX that you could try a different port...

Re: Is it GRUB, UEFI, GPT? I don't know
The booting process now does not freezes and shows me the GRUB menu, but, it does not boot the OS (Linux Mint) when choosing the OS, it only does it when I select the Recovery Mode through Advanced options and then booting the OS from its very first option in the list. I can't think of anything cau...

Re: Screen goes off during boot in recovery mode.
I fail to understand how this problem could be hardware when everything works fine in normal boot, everything works fine when I boot in Windows 10. Recovery mode is the only mode that makes the screen go off. What happens when you boot in safe mode in Windows 10? I believe that is comparable to boo...

Update: I finally caught the error on journalctl and asked someone on discord about it, turns out it's a kernel bug affecting ryzen processors that's been known and not fixed for 4 years. That's not the information I found. This AMD community forum topic links to a bug report psot which after readi...

Do you have any insight why my Asus screen goes off though? You are asking why your hardware is acting like it is without providing information about your hardware. There are a limited number of generalizations which can be made which I have done. If you want to know more about your specific instal...
