Re: LMDE 6 does not see my Display Port
I took you to mean headers on the mobo that could be connected to extra external ports - none of those present, nor anything that actually looks like a video socket (I have seen both in the past, but never on a board that is so small as this -- The entire box is about the width of my keyboard) Many...

Re: PC keeps rebooting itself whenever I boot and login in Linux Mint
You can stay with LM21.2 until April 2027 if you want. Oh? is there a reason for that specific date? Support for all versions of LM21 stop in April 2027. The recommendation is to run a supported operating system if you are using your computer on the internet. Is there a place where you could recomm...

Re: Kernel version after upgrade to 22 from 21.3.
Out of curiosity I run "System Info" and was surprised to see the running kernel is 5.15.0-76-generic, and not 6.8xxx. Is this a problem, and I should update the kernel? If so, how? If you are running Mint 22 then it is a problem. If you are running 21.x then it is not a problem. Please o...

Re: UEFI and Grub do not display on new "monitor"
This is not a grub issue. This is a hardware issue. That was a fair deduction on the info we had previously: however since my OP in this thread I have found a case where grub does reliably display through the DisplayPort. That means it is not a hardware issue... I appears you may have misunderstood...

Re: installation falled error errno5 input/output
ok im gonna try to delete linux partitions good luck me I wish you lots of luck. The specs I found for a Lenovo G500 indicate it has an Ivy Bridge CPU which is only one generation newer than what I have. My laptop only has "experimental" support for EFI which means it is really BIOS (MBR)...

Re: installation falled error errno5 input/output
is it possible to delete linux and switch back windows ? :( Yes. I would think that it would be possible to delete the Linux partitions and see if Windows will boot. Somehow the install of Linux Mint is not what I normally see. I don't know why there is a boot flag on /dev/sda5, but I would expect ...

Re: installation falled error
i opened gparted and i get this : is there any boot flag? Yes. The column on the far right is "Flags". The third line down is /dev/sda5 and has boot, esp However, that seems a bit unusual because it should not be its own partition on a drive that is MBR which is what the rest of the scree...

Re: Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon audio not working
Well, I upgraded to Linux Mint 22, but the problems still are occurring. I think it's because my audio drivers are configured wrong. I don't know what that means. The audio servers for LM22 are different than they are with LM21.3. Do you know what specs I should post so you can see what's going on?...

I didn`t fully get what you meant but I have a 2 Terabyte SSD form where I'm dual booting Linux Mint and Windows, LM was the first one to be installed when I built my PC, I started dual booting Windows some time later, and It wasn`t my first time doing it so I thought I knew what I was doing, I gav...

Re: External Screen Blacks out every few seconds LM22 Cinnamon
I don't think the output has changed. It does not appear that it did. Other than touchpad errors (and messages about pressing the power button which i presume was you suspending the laptop), I don't see mention of any errors/proplems. This post mentions errors those who were having the laptop scree...

Please create a new topic for your issue and make sure to include your complete system information in the first post.
Freeze issues are very much hardware and installation dependent.

Re: Where to report kernel issues
The Mint dev team isn't going to do anything about kernel bugs. One does not report kernel bugs to Mint developers and I did not give instructions to do that. The directions I gave are for reporting bugs on Launchpad. That is how one reports bugs against Ubuntu. Had you actually checked the directi...

Re: Where to report kernel issues
Is there a better place for me to report this? Open Update Manager, then click View Linux Kernels and click Continue. Make sure 6.8 is selected on the left. Then on the right panel click 6.8.0-38. Then click the "Bug Reports" link. On the page which opens is an option on the upper right t...
