Re: PC keeps rebooting itself whenever I boot and login in Linux Mint

The "app of my motherboard" thing is something I mentioned had a pop up on my desktop every time I booted windows, it was a GIGABYTE app, I had also download it initially alongside the AMD app but I think it really didn´t do anything, I think it was like a settings manager but I didn´t re...

Re: Mint 22 Wilma hangs on boot with "Splash" on Grub, AMD RX 7900 XTX Graphics

The splash screen in Mint 22 seems to have some kind of issue with certain GPUs, at least mine, as it renders the OS functionally unusable as long as it's enabled as it will never display anything, resulting in a black screen. Did you do a fresh install of Mint 22 or was it an in-place upgrade from...

Please let us know what other ones are having issues and if there are ones which are not having issues. Maybe that will give clues on what is happening.

Re: xrandr showing strange display resolutions when using scaling

Is there a way to change GPU order in the Linux configuration? The GPU order shown is the order set by your hardware. There is not a way to change the hardware from within Linux Mint. That is why I suggested checking the BIOS/UEFI settings. True, but I have all of the heavier stuff (like vms / cont...

I had the same question as you. But, I work with NVidia (discrete) + Intel (integrated). I'm not sure that it works for AMD (but It's very interesting for me). I moved your post to your topic about Nvidia. The other person had an older Intel/AMD laptop so discussion of Nvidia Optimus and proprietar...

Moderator note: psarapkin's post which is about Wayland with Intel/Nvidia GPUs has been moved to their topic on the issue NVidia Driver Installation Common problems. Discussing Wayland on an Intel/Nvidia install is off-topic for this SOLVED Intel/AMD topic.

Re: PC keeps rebooting itself whenever I boot and login in Linux Mint

I don´t know if I did BIOS/UEFI automatic updates in Windows, but based on the fact that as I said, I installed an AMD app that automatically did stuff and also an app of my motherboard that I had a pop up on the windows desktop to install, it´s likely, I guess. What is the "app of my motherbo...

Re: xrandr showing strange display resolutions when using scaling

I am setting the scale in the pre installed System Settings > Display app (Under Layout > Monitor Scale). That is what I thought you meant. That is scaling the monitor and not the font. The font is changed in a different place. (Sometimes people find settings I never knew existed which is why I ask...

Re: Kernal 6.0.1 only shows my monitor at 800x600 but 5.18 works fine

its relevant only because thats the default in my Grub boot, but it does not support my monitor for some reason. The only way of which I would know that it would become your default in Grub boot is if you purposely added that kernel. I have no idea what kernel it is or how you installed it which is...

I couldn't get in to grub via boot (Linux Mint single-booter here)... For future reference, see this post for how to edit grub to get the grub menu to show all the time. If you just want to see the grub menu on one boot and you do not normally see the it, do one of these options to bring it up whil...

Check the System Monitor to see if the wireplumber process is consuming a lot of memory when things start slowing in Mint 22.
