Re: Why, Why, Why are there still people out there who fail to BACK UP?

I hardly ever back up my Mint laptop. I do occasionally backup my Windows PC with disk2vhd.exe. If I could run disk2vhd.exe and vhd2disk.exe from a Linux Mint live CD, I'd likely always backup my systems; otherwise, backing my crap up takes more effort than I want to exert.

I see enough of Windows, more so than I want. I'd like to see PearOS make a come-back (one can only hope).
Have you tried Elementary OS? It's quite fruity
I have not, and to be honest, I doubt I will leave Mint.

Genshin Impact will not be ported to Linux

The only free-to-play game I have ever kept up with is Genshin Impact, and it appears it will not release for Linux. It will be available for Android and Windows, yet not Linux. I fail to understand the logic of these game studios who will develop for Windows and mobile, but not Linux or any Linux d...

Re: American College is a Waste of Money

In all honesty, I really was only just frustrated when I posted this topic. However, make no mistake, the US has an educational system in desperate need of reform (like everything else in this country). I'm not saying I feel like its a waste of money yet , but it certainly will be at some time soon ...

Re: American College is a Waste of Money

jmorris84, I have a meeting with our financial aid officer who might be able to help me. My advisor is also trying to work with me on my next FASFA so I am at least hopeful!

Ah ok. Many of the Wii games that I'd like to play on Dolphin use the motion controls, so I was wondering how Dolphin handled that.
This seems too easy, but I found this on how to connect the Wii controller to Dolphin --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZPdlzp-P5g

American College is a Waste of Money

Here in the US, attending a graduate university or even a small community tech college is really turning into a waste of money. Unless you have scholarships or any aid, you'll owe more in debt than you'll ever make back. I'm very frustrated with our educational system right now. I'm an honors studen...

Re: A Linux Compatible Tuner for Harley-Davidsons

It might work in WINE or Virtualbox. However, I understand your problem. Have you got a spare machine that you could load Wingewoes onto for just that purpose? I could always convert my LM20 laptop to W10 pro. It really wouldn't be a problem. Or, I could dualboot. Regardless, its not life-or-death,...

I'm interested in your experiences with Dolphin. Do you have a real Wii controller (remote and nunchuck) and sensor bar? Or do you use something else?
I use Dolphin for GameCube emulation, I've actually never played a Wii game on it. The controller I use is Logitech F710.

A Linux Compatible Tuner for Harley-Davidsons

I seriously doubt I'm asking the right people here, but perhaps someone will actually know something of this. I am looking to buy a tuner for my motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson. The tuners I see on the market on only compatible with Windows 7 thru 10. I've yet to see one tuner with Linux software. Bel...

Re: Replace Laptop every x years?

My daily driver is from 2010 or so and I see no reason to replace it. (...) Just wondering, is it a Dell? Nope. Thinkpad X201. Reason I ask, the Dells I have had just keep on running. I've never had a Thinkpad, but I really want one for Libreboot to work on. If I ever actually do replace my laptop,...

Re: Gaming on Linux Mint 20

Let's not deceive ourselves, Mint is not the best OS for gaming. It is indeed the best Linux distro for gaming perhaps, but let's be real; Windows 10 is still the dominant PC gaming OS. Windows 10 is still the more powerful in terms of compatibility, high detailed graphics, and -most importantly- fr...

Install an Android File Manager - e.g Solid Explorer. Then Share Image should include a Save As option (provided by the File Manager)
This works and does exactly what I want!

Re: Firefox for Android - Save as

On a desktop computer, on Firefox, you can right click an image/link and click 'save as', which allows you to save a file in a chosen directory. On Android, 'save as' is not an option in Firefox and you can't select which folder you want to save something to. What web browsers do this on a mobile d...

True, but I am looking for a way to save to a specific folder. I can't find a browser that allows this.
