Re: Removing Windows 7 from a dual boot?

You can easily delete the Windows partition from Linux Mint, but you won't be able to merge the two without a liveCD because Linux won't let you do anything with the partition that Linux Mint is using. In other words, you can't change the partition Linux Mint is on while Linux Mint is running. So, i...

Re: Removing Windows 7 from a dual boot?

To be honest I would backup your data (if you haven't already) because you will run the risk of losing your data regardless of what you do. Now, if I were you what I would do is grab a copy of a Linux distro that's designed for system rescue because they are light and generally designed for partitio...

Re: [SOLVED] software update "fix broken packages first"

@bobcollard: Could you list some specific bugs? I ran 4.4 on opensuse, and I really liked it. I would be willing to run it right now. But I keep getting the broken packages message, even after enabling the repos that I saw in your picture.

It's not a big deal-I just don't need it if I have certain packages.

Re: synaptics multitouch

Obviously, the multitouch doesn't seem to be working, but that's not to big an issue. I love this laptop, it's much faster than it was with vista. My only issues are that you won't get as much battery life, mostly related to the screen brightness. I can't change it at all. I'm not sure that this is ...

synaptics multitouch

Hey, I just bought an acer aspire timeline. It has the synaptics multitouch touchpad, and i did some research and found out that there are ways to get the multitouch support in linux. I tried the terminal commands, but to no avail. Then i updated the kernel to 2.6.30, which is supposed to have nativ...

terminal problems

I'm having two problems with my terminal right now. The most important one is that it won't let me login as the sudo user. I've used sudo before and entered the password without a hitch. Now, it goes through the three attempts before telling me it couldn't login. The second issue is something that s...

Re: Linux Mint 7 'Gloria' KDE released!

for everyone lamenting the abscence of a x64 release, if you REALLY want it, kubuntu 9.04 does have a x64 release. Personally i love linux mint and prefer it over baseline ubuntu and kubuntu, but if that increase in speed is a big deal they have it.

turning firefox 3.5 into chrome-incomplete, need some help.

Hey! For those like me who like some of the features of google chrome but dislike the instabilityof the current linux ports (AKA Chromium), this is for you. First things first, you need to update to firefox 3.5 if you haven't already (the themes won't work in firefox 3). I think you can do this righ...
