I have a Dell 1501 with 2 gigs of ram along with an ATI radeon xpress that shares 256 of that 2 gigs. Not happy with the ATI all that much as i run Linux on it. You dont have Emerald installed? If not go into synaptic and install that as well. Then try my suggestion again.
