Re: LMDE was what I meant all along

I also do not like the direction Ubuntu is heading, But I understand it. LMDE greatly appeals to me form the standpoint of this. I really like the Debian base, I also really like the idea of a rolling release, and finally I love the elegance of the Mint branding. I'm getting older now and I'm lookin...

Re: I love the idea of this project.

The update went well. I actually tried Mint 9 Ubuntu base first its seems just a bit faster, but this seems very stable. Guess only time will tell. I wonder does the Debian kernel use a different scheduler then the Ubnutu kernel? does any one know the answer I could look it up, but maybe on the Mint...

I love the idea of this project.

The idea of moving from a Ubuntu base to Debian has me excited. I am going to load this on my netbook, and do some testing. I will be happy to provide feedback. I would love to run this on my home Desktop if things work out. I love the idea the concept and the looks.

Re: python code running as root for no reason why?

I doubt anyone is able or available to start debugging the system to tell you exactly what a particular process does, we will likely depend on the developers to indicate its functions and operational parameters.[/list] Debugging a system seems to me to go beyond the function of these forums I been ...

Re: python code running as root for no reason why?

look read the title it is a python code running without reporting back to the GUI system monitor. I understand the commands to find out what processes are running/sleeping in the background. All I could find out about this was its taking 50% cpu load to run and its some sort of python code. Its some...

Re: python code running as root for no reason why?

I haven't used my netbook in a while now, I boot it up today and man Mint is so nice, the only thing really stopping me from using it as my main and only distro is this run away process that doesn't report to the system monitor what it is. Its just not safe! I mean not knowing exactly what is going ...

python code running as root for no reason why?

I'm sitting here watching my system monitor run my cpu at 50% load for no reason. I checked the process tree under the monitor and nothing was using the cpu. simply great

Mint 8 is the second time I have tried Mint, Just as before I am extremely impressed. Last time after seeing and hearing something about mint and google I kinda shied away from it. I also found out Ubuntu was doing similar. This release is great. I noticed the "un-install" feature that was...

I really like Linux Mint

I installed it for my soon to be x who didn't want to pay for windows ( I figured it would be the easiest version of linux for her to maintain ). Funny thing is after installing it and playing around I really like it. As a matter of fact I installed it on my new acer AOD 150 netbook. I'm going to te...
