Re: Vista won't boot after Mint 9 install

Nono:

Yes there is a Vista entry, and when selected, I get sent to the eRecovery screen.

Vincent:

I did defrag prior to install, and I did use Vista's utility to shrink the volume. There are no error messages.

(Solved) Vista won't boot after Mint 9 install

I can't start Vista after installing Mint 9 on my Acer Aspire 1410 netbook. I don't have the Vista CD and need to get it back up and running. Is this just a Grub problem? When I try to boot into Vista, I get this Acer eRecovery program starting up and even when I try to restore the system it does no...

Re: simple audio file slow down

Thanks. I think I tried Audacity before without luck. I tried it again and had no issues. It works great. I think the last time I tried it I must have opened the audio file instead of importing it (that's what I did this time but, I imported it and it made all the difference). I bet someone could ma...

simple audio file slow down

I am looking for a SIMPLE way to slow down an audio file (without changing the pitch), crop it and loop it. My intention is to use it to learn guitar parts of songs. I found a cool Windows app called Amazing Slowdowner, but it isn't free (and it's Windows). Link to app for reference http://www.ronim...

Persistent USB install

I've been looking for a way to do a persistent USB drive install of mint with no luck. I found the following instruction for Ubuntu 7.10: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2007/09/28/usb-ubuntu-710-gutsy-gibbon-install/ I assume that it should work for Mint, other than step 17 and 18 (see image). Any hel...

Parental control

How about an easy to setup and maintain, robust parental control system. Many of the advantages that Mint had over other distros are disappearing with their advancement. A good option for parents would be a big differentiator.

And by the way, GREAT job on Daryna. I am enjoying it immensely.
