Re: Linux Mint 8 Helena RC1 released!

Hi - just wanted to say that this is another excellent piece of work at least for me on my machine. The install was effortless, the ati proprietary driver installed and works fine. The default wallpaper and theme are very pleasant and actually would work well in a corporate environments I would thin...

Re: Linux Mint 8 Helena RC1 released!

I downloaded the iso, checked the signature (via md5) but the dvd did not burn properly. Brasero copied the files(and i used low speed),but in the end a warning appeared saying that the files are somewhat corrupted...i can't understand - i'm sure it's the right iso file. I have an easy share camera which just works. Another workaround if you have an SD card reader is to use the SD...

Re: Linux Mint 7 'Gloria' KDE released!

I have to say after using various distro's since 2000 that I am just super impressed with LinuxMint. I am not a hardcore purist. I don't mind closed source programs or drivers, but then I haven't been bitten by anything security wise in a driver where the vendor is behind in security patching. I was...

Re: [Resolved]-Can I switch to kernel 2.6.30?

Now if I can only get vmware player (or vmware server) to work with the 2.6.31 kernel. Anyone know if kvm will fit the bill? VirtualBox runs, but VMWare seems faster and is easier to forward my bluetooth dongle to. I like to synch my Nokia phone with Outlook (using PC-Suite). Amazingly, PC-Suite is...
