Re: [SOLVED -kinda] What usable fan speed controls are working with mint20?

Bummer I tried the extix-20.10-64bit-deepin-20-live-2640mb-201021.iso which has the newest kernel 5.9.1 but the Lenovo is still not cooperating. On the other hand I had the pleasure to see the nicest d esktop e nvironment with the new deepin 20. :o If you ever missed XP to 7 than this is your next c...

Re: What usable fan speed controls are working with mint20?

well I can say that if you have a Lenovo Yoga 710 you are out of luck.
I switched to the first ultrabook an ASUS UX31E what has a very quiet fan and there fan control works out of the (Mint) box.
Go figure.

Re: Understanding EFI, GRUB and all that jazz

I just can talk about the M$ PC world. One day M$ decided the users had it much to easy to screw around with their computers and decided the fun ride up to win 7 was over. A "more secure" way was looked at to make things as complicated as possible so you need a certified M$ trained pro to get things...

Re: [SOLVED] Workaround if no speaker sound for Everest ES8316 SoC and maybe others

It is amazing isnt it? It is smaller than the SOC from my new Android TV boxes, It comes with USB3 and 2, SD card reader, mini HDMI stereo headphone plug, good sound and a good full HD anti glare screen. Just for fun good 3 years ago I was looking what is the cheapest Windows 10 PC with a 15" screen...

It is NOT!

As somebody who designed his first webpage last Millennium and still does it, so they work on every browser no matter how old, I prefer the simple, easy to read to the modern, overloaded where you need at least 2 add ons to keep it in check. There is a guy in Germany who has a blog that is pure ASCI...

Re: Launcher icons not scaled properly on Hi-DPI in Cinnamon in 4.6.7 (Mint 20)

I did a lot of tinkering with things too small and what works with everything. then I started KODI and I had only a quarter of the display visible. The thing what worked well and is easiest is just lower the screen resolution, leave every thing else as it is. The fastest way to scale everything. On ...

Re: Revising my Harddrive's Dual Op Partitions

DO NOT USE LINUX TO RESIZE WINDOWS OS PARTITIONS.
It can end badly from own experience.
To shrink a win partition use the free Macrium Reflect.
Than use a Linux live (installation) usb and make the Linux partition bigger via GPARTED.

Other ways tested and they all went bad, this works 100%
