Re: How good & effective is Timeshift?
@Thrashzone2 - You can very much use an MBR layout drive with timeshift just as much as GPT. The crux of the matter is actually you just need a partition formatted to btrfs, ext4 or xfs and not NTFS or FAT32 for it to store snapshots on. Hi, You prove my point additional formatting needed for some ...

Re: Why do new people give up on Linux?

Hi,
Yeah you can run cmd and powercfg -h off and never have to look at power options to turn off hibernation.

Re: How good & effective is Timeshift?
Hi,
Only issue I found was you need to format the hdd/.. in linux before you can actually use timeshift.
Can't just use a mbr disk like windows not sure you can just use a gpt disk either so no timeshift doesn't just work

Hi, Sorry but harmony with win-10 and linux is not possible lol Beside think you'd need to disable fast start features in win-10 Only way it's remotely possible to have any sort of harmony is if you use a device like this to keep them far apart by removing one and inserting the other you want to use...

Re: 19.3 to 20 - complete failure, extremely angry
Only thing I worry about is the grub sludge linux insists on adding and getting rid of that unnecessary crap off ssd/ hdd's. Every Linux distro I've loaded on my machines uses grub. What do you consider "grub sludge"? Hi, Grub on a non linux installed ssd = a data ssd that was not connect...

Hi,
Thankfully I never worry too much about if I loose anything on linux because most is backed up anyway
Only thing I worry about is the grub sludge linux insists on adding and getting rid of that unnecessary crap off ssd/ hdd's.

Re: Is this true about Linux Kernel? Newbie asking...
This is a quote from another forum i visit, where they were discussing Linux and how secure it was. Just wondering... "The kernel was not build with security in mind. It doesn't distrust other parts in the system. The user space has no isolation. I can't see why people consider it "more s...

Re: How can I set up "High Performance" settings?
Linux Mint is incredibly slow when it comes to any sort of browser game. I'm trying to launch a browser game for a project I'm working on, but it's so pathetically slow that I just can't do anything (.io games, etc.). I've heard that Windows has a "High Performance" settings to speed up t...

Re: What Don't You Like about Linux Mint?
Too much password needed for basic stuff like updating Thanks for your feedback. Like a lot of things posted in this thread, however, this isn't inherently a Linux Mint thing, but a Linux thing , or a thing of traditional distributions , more specifically. I think it would be very bad for Linux Min...
