Its these simple things that end up with me spending half the day trying to get the functionality I already had to begin with.
I swear I am turning updates OFF and never upgrading LINUX MINT again.........,never, never, ever....... lol

It appears "Mate-Panel" is the new app that doesn't work to add shortcuts, and 'gnome-panel' is the old one that allows to add shortcuts.
Re-installing 'gnome-panel' and 'gnome-panel-control' won't launch, so maybe you need to uninstall 'Mate-Panel' first?

I hate that you can't add shortcuts easily to the 'panel bars', and in v20 it seems impossible to add any at all. Panel shortcuts are pretty much the main reason you have an OS to begin with, to organize and launch the programs your PC. The one thing I miss from Ubuntu

I give up..... I'm going to try installing Ubuntu So far that iso is downloading fine, they just had one link to click and its working.

Can someone just give me a freaking link to an ACTUAL ISO that will work? And not some page with 59 links to choose from. Thanks I would appreciate

Yes I've read your posts. I've been at this for two days now.
Its not a hardware problem. There is nothing wrong with the desktop server and the USB drive is fine.

I think I know the problem with UNETbootin. When running this software, it allows you to select Linux Mint as the OS to create a bootable USB, but the versions from the drop-down only go up to 15, not 20. So I chose 15 of course. Maybe this is why it won't install the OS? But the bootable USB starts...

Perhaps v20 is just not fully vetted for bugs?
Maybe I should try installing v19. Though I imagine support for that will kick off before long :/
