Re: Linux Mint 6 "Felicia" RC1 released!

This is a very good OS I installed it on my Acer Aspire One and the only thing that I had to do was install the athos 5211 wifi driver from /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintWiFi/drivers/i386/Atheros_AR5007eg/net5211.inf file using the Winrows Wireless Drivers installer from the menue. Everything else works gr...

I used mintbackup and backed up my home and after a clean install of beta 48 I restored home from the backup it worked really well and it didn't take very long either.

Re: Linux Mint 5 Elyssa RC2 (BETA 048) is out!

I downloaded 048 in about 10 minutes which was faster than any one I have down loaded so far. I already had my home folder backed up using mintbackup.I installed 048 on 2 different computers. One has a intel p4 3.4 processor intel D865PERL MB 2 gigs of memory a ATI radeon 9250 video 2 Gigs memory ca...

Re: Mint without the Linux?

There are pros and cons on both sides of the debate. Mint is a lot of thing, Linux Mint uniquely identifies our project. I also disagree with the statement that "Linux" is scary, IMHO it sounds good to people who know about it and raises curiosity to others. As for Windows, ok it's not DO...

Re: Evolution e-mail

I use evolution all the time too and I love it but I installed Mint Daryna on my Daughter's computer and also on a friend of hers. I want to know if I will be able to transfer their saved e-mails and contacts to evolution when I upgrade them to Elyssa.

Re: mintBackup 1.1 released in Romeo

It will work in KDE, however it's planned for Elyssa, not for Daryna. Clem I installed Mint Kde beta 44 then I use a back up that I had already made of Daryna 4.0 and used it to restore my home on the kde 44 system it works really well but it takes quiet some time. Kde Mint also works well no probl...

4.0

I am really liking 4.0 now![/quote] Me to 4.0 is the best Linux system that I have ever ran on this computer,no problems at all, after I turned 3d effects of! I don't see any good reason to have them anyway. P4 3.4 hyper threading ati radeon 9250, 160 gb hard drive, 1.5 gig ram and sony dvd/cd writer.

There ALWAYS are bugs. So we'd better go and find them before the stable release :) Thanks to Darganot, I just checked and yes: Flash and Mplayer plugins are missing in Firefox. Java is alright (1.5). Clem I installed 2.2 Beta on a desktop and on a laptop the laptop is an IBM A20m 700 mg P3 the des...
