Re: superuser

Firejail is the culprit!
I disabled it and look...

It says [Read-Only] since I'm not root, but no more superuser on the titlebar :D

Re: superuser

It shows me as a regular user, so why does it show superuser on my apps if i'm a standard user?

As you can see it shows my name across from where it says htop

Re: superuser

Technically i'm talking about both.

Would someone please explain to me if I'm not supposed to be a superuser, why does both Mint and Debian and probably other distros install as a superuser???

Re: superuser

The Linux Mint installer has never asked during the installation to define a password for user root, because the Mint approach has been the Ubuntu approach to root access for the past 5 years, i.e. you gain root access, if needed, by using sudo or pkexec only. Sorry, I had Debian on the brain when ...

Hello guys. Someone has brought it to my attention that opening an app like a text editor or music player etc. shouldn't show "superuser" at the top, so how can I remedy this? If it's not supposed to be showing that. FYI...Anytime I install Linux from day 1, I ignore the part where it tell...

Dark mode issues

I have a theme installed called Ark-Dark but my software is still the default white color...How do I make EVERYTHING dark/follow my theme on my system? If that makes sense. In Mint it was simple, but not so much with Debian :?

Debian login screen

Hi guys. I am tinkering with Debian 10, cause Mint was crashing so much on my old desktop, so I hope it's ok to ask about Debian here. How do I remove certain items on the login screen? All I want is the time, power options and name of my system, and my clock configured to normal time instead of mil...

Mint 19.3 XFCE Software Sources freezing

Hi Guys. I just installed Mint Xfce 19.3, and I'm trying to install the Xfce goodies, but I get these errors below, and when I try to change mirrors in software sources, it does nothing so i'm assuming it's frozen and I have to use Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to logout. Blends beautifully with 'Cinnamon' as a theme. Another one that looks like one could get lost in it. Like Alice through the wormhole . . Edit: Is that a standard Cinnamon Wallpaper? If it isn't - it should be ! :) I have MATE, and no it's not a cinnamon wallpaper. I get my wallpaper at wallhaven.cc
