It's very likely that no one has remotely launched it on your desktop. Most likely you accidentially clicked on it or maybe set it to launch from a hotkey somehow, or you set it to autostart. Or it was the ghost..... but we dont talk about that here.

Might I suggest https://simpletax.ca/. Its Canadian, free, web based, and Efiles the results for you. No need for software or wine. They offer the service for free but at the end they do ask if you will donate so if you can please do, they offer a great service.

Great this is kinda what i thought the situation might be. ill Grab an ISO for Mint 20 and rock and roll with that, he wont be using internet for anything other than school and i can lock things down pretty securly. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. Happy new year.
