Mint 13 KDE
I installed Mint 13 KDE a couple of weeks ago. It's like playing a Chopin piano piece on a grand piano! An unusual smooth feeling. Fabulous and a joy to use. Congrats to the team on this edition.

Thanks, works really well. Could do with a list of sites that Media Hint allows. Pandora and Hulu work great. Any more?

How I solved xorg 'No usable screen found'
Firstly, I was unable to use Mint 13 Maya (32 Bit) because I had to go via recovery mode to get to a working desktop otherwise I got a black screen shortly followed by a message that xorg couldn't find any screens. I tried hitting 'e' in the grub menu and adding nomodeset after the line that contain...

Re: Linux Mint 13 and Video Cards
As you have been told in other posts, you are trying to run a modern OS on a rather old PC. You might be better looking at an older version of mint/linux or getting a newer machine, though many users still have graphics issues with new machines! How come my eight year old PC handles Mint 13 (last s...

Re: Xorg problem in Maya 13 Lts
Thanks, I tried the instruction from the link but it failed. If I pressed f10 after altering ro quiet splash etc it took me back to booting the OS which failed so I tried again and pressed f2 that took me to a grub screen of some kind so I typed in Xorg-configure cp/root... etc in there but that als...

Re: Predictive Text-Google (SOLVED)
(Solved) Thanks Habitual but it didn't work. I have solved this problem by selecting Options (top right in Googles main search window) and selecting to use iGoogle and then pasting it´s address in Firefox´s Options menu/general/home page. Yipee!

Tried that but it won't fix it permanently. Sign out and it's enabled again. If I remain signed in then ok but I do not want to sign in just for general searching. Thanks tho'

Predictive Text-Google
Predictive Text in Googles search bar is driving me around the bend. Does anyone know how to totally disable it... and I mean permanently. I hate it as much as I hate it on mobile phones. I am Mint 9, Firefox 3.6.17. There are some suggestions out there but none disable this ( lets show you selling ...

Re: Installing Mint 9 using external DVD/CD drive help.
Thanks benachie, Gives me even more confidence. Also I wish to connect my 17" monitor (currently on my old PC) to it. I assume it will fit ok. I mean, the picture size will be 1280x800 or above I presume. Sorry to sound ignorant in these matters but never bought a brand new box before!

Re: Installing Mint 9 using external DVD7CD drive help.
Thanks JasonLG. I am confident that it does have USB bios. I thought that I had read somewhere, that Operating Systems required external transfers by Sata or the old flat data cable system. I tried 'Googling` but only came across netbook installs via flash drives and zero on external optical drives ...
