I had the same problem (among others) and resolved it by just changing the password via passwd cmd line.

Simple menu idea

Hey guys, I love the mint menu. One small feature I would LOVE has to do with the search. It would be nice if when you search for an application, the first one on the list is automatically highlighted so you can just press enter to launch it. or if you want once it's highlighted u can use arrow keys...

In windows I also use imgburn and I always burn ISOs at max speed. I've never had a problem except with cd rws. good luck!
