Re: Facing issues with shutdown --halt

Then maybe I have a hardware issue. I did as I was told to, but it froze, and had to use power to reboot.

Re: Facing issues with shutdown --halt

I am sorry, but I did read one of them but couldn't understand. Later I tried and it understood. So, I repeated the same thing, and did the REISUB, but nothing happened and I had to use the power button noob@noob-ASPIRE-E5-511:~$ inxi -Fzx System: Kernel: 5.4.0-65-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: g...

Re: Facing issues with shutdown --halt

I forcefully powered it off and booted it again How, via the power button? Don't do that, there is a small risk you will corrupt the filesystem. Instead try this first Alt + PrtScn + REISUO (or REISUB for reboot). Keep the Alt key pressed for the whole sequence. Only if that fails use the power but...

Facing issues with shutdown --halt

So, I just wanted to halt my computer for a bit, so I used shutdown --halt and it asked for root password, which I gave. What happened next, made me somewhat worried. I was greeted with the mint logo, and after a while with no change, my laptop's fan ramped up, and the desktop froze. I waited for a ...

Re: What word processor do you use?

For offline text editing, I use the built in xed editor, as it's simple and gets your work done.
For online tho, I prefer docs over office.

How do I uninstall taskade?[Solved[

So, I installed a bunch of todo apps, and I can't uninstall them.
I did
>>>sudo apt remove taskade
>>>sudo snap remove taskade
tho the file itself is gone from the start, I still see an icon in the notification panel, and when I click on it, the app loads.

How to open a file in the basic text editor that came along with the linux mint 20.1 [Solved]

How do I open a file using not the gedit, but the basic text editor. I personally prefer the basic text editor over it.
For gedit the command is:
gedit <filename>
so, is there any way to do that to the basic text editor?
