Re: HOW TO: Install Broadcom-sta (wl) driver in LMDE

Hello, Thats because the latest version of broadcom driver do not support 2.6.37 yet. You can apply the patches from http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=19514 to it and it will work great. If you don't know how to apply the patches or you are lazy to do it and you trust me enough I've attached ...

Re: Firefox not installed?

What do you get, in the terminal, when you type, just: firefox Do not use sudo firefox you don't want to open it with root/admin privileges Maybe, go into the Synaptic Manager and check Firefox for Complete Removal ... then, re-install. Re: Help to install

By formating do you mean erase the files of it?
When you are installing it, all your files in the / partition will be erased.
If you are worried about not formating, so it would go faster don't worry it doesn't take long at all.

Re: Help to install

You have to format the '/'. It's where the files from your system will get installed to.
Thats why most people put /home in different partition.
If you are doing a fresh install there is no point in not formating since you want a new system.

Re: [Solved] Login screen: disable user list

Interesting... so you don't have the /etc/linuxmint/adjustments folder? Then let me ask you the same question, was your system installed with the first iso or the new one? Yes, first iso. I do have it. ls -l /etc/linuxmint/adjustments total 20 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 101 Ago 1 07:39 10-mintsystem-sy...

Re: Login screen: disable user list

Do you have the file called: /usr/share/linuxmint/adjustments/gdm3/greeter.gconf-defaults if you do try putting that line there. If you don't have that file check if you have /usr/share/gdm/greeter-config/20_debian If you do try putting that line there. if you got none of those files post the conten...

Re: choosing a window manager

After you chose the user and before you type in your password there should be on the bottom panel a combo box to chose the wm.

about double click: not sure exactly how it is in english but. Open up any folder. edit > preferences > behavior > single click to open items.

Re: newbish question, but what's the point?

I imagine debian as water. Ubuntu as wine and mint as grape juice. The way I see it is that ubuntu keeps adding 'alcohol' while I just want grape juice. While main edition tries to take off the alcohol from the wine to deliver to me a nice grape juice, LMDE gets the watter, the grapes and makes me t...

Some times some windows programs can damage grub2 installation on MBR. Maybe this is what happened to you. Here is something about it. http://www.supergrubdisk.org/wiki/WindowsErasesGrub If this is your problem it is pretty hard to track down what windows program is causing this(usually anti-virus o...

I haven't been following this post closely but... Did you guys notice that testing now(since a few days) uses a package called desktop-base(6.0.2) to manage things like this? Just saying in case this changes something for what you guys were trying to do. README: cat /usr/share/doc/desktop-base/READM...

Re: gwibber error 401

The Gwibber on testing does not work well with twitter. However the one in sid does(2.91). So here is a little how-to: open: /etc/apt/sources.list add the following line to the end of it: deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free it's a src repository so don't worry, it wont ...
