Thunderbird and Outlook Calendar

Thunderbird works great for outlook.com e-mails, however my calendar doesn't sync. In doing some searching both here and on other sites, seems like this is a moving target. I came across the following https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2016/10/outlook-calendar-in-thunderbird.html which seemed to...

Conky External Scrtipt Not Displaying

I have a call out in Conky to an external script (callout from conkyrc file below: ${exec /home/jay/temp/dvr_openchannels_d} I have the following in the dvr_openchannels_d file (it is set to be executable): #!/bin/sh echo "\${goto 10}- ch8.1 WGAL-TV" However, conky displays the following w...

Re: Order of Log Entries Changes Output

Something like this I think: #!/bin/bash # get a temporary filename tempfile="$(mktemp)" # reverse the logs and store it in the temporary file tac logs > "$tempfile" # get list of (unique) channel names from the logs, store in array 'channels' mapfile -t channels < <(cut -d' ' -...

Re: Order of Log Entries Changes Output

So played with a couple of the scrips above, very informative. Here's some additional details: - The length of the log files is not always the same. As an example, I can also get my channel from a streaming service vs. the physical tuner in my house, thus in some instances the code looks like this; ...

Re: Order of Log Entries Changes Output

Assuming you have the channel names and the logs aren't huge (not gigabytes) you can do this by reversing the file (with tac logs ) and then grepping the first occurrence (with grep -m 1 ) of each channel from it. To show the idea for your example logs: $ tac logs | grep -m 1 'ch731 AMC HD' 2021/07...

Order of Log Entries Changes Output

Trying to figure out how to use a Bash Script to create an entry for my Conky display. I'm searching through my Channels DVR Log. For each channel that is opened, it creates a 'Opened Connection...' and when we stop watching the channel, it turns into 'Closed Connection....'. We have multiple tuners...

Re: wget with recursive, overwrite & erobots off

I guess I figured a workaround. Only issue is if my VPN isn't connected, the below script will error out after it removes the files before I download again whereas I was hoping if the VPN was down, the original script would error before overwritting and thus preserve those files since it wouldn't be...

Re: wget with recursive, overwrite & erobots off

Thanks for all the responses. I can download the numerous files (index, subfoldolders, sub web pages) using: wget -r -erobots=off 0 http://192.168.0.2/stats I can also overwrite single pages if I download a single page wget -O http://192.168.0.2/stats/e1/index.html What I want to do is the combinati...

wget with recursive, overwrite & erobots off

Sorry if this is a redundent question. I've googled many phrases trying to find out how to do the following: use wget to download a series of pages off my local server. I know the following options: - r = recursive download of the webpages behind the index.html file - O = overwrite the previous file...

Re: Startup Application Not Launching

Segmentation fault is when your system tries to access a page of memory that doesn’t exist per https://blog.opstree.com/2019/04/02/resolving-segmentation-fault-core-dumped-in-ubuntu/ I'm not 100% certain that steps 1 -5 will resolve the problem. But I have no reason to assume they will cause any ei...

[CLOSED] Plex Can't Access RAID 5 Drive

Seriously, no suggestions after almost a day? Seriously, you have an expectation that we know everything? Actually no, I don't expect everyone knows everything. However, I'm fairly certain 95% of the users of this board know more than I do about Linux and likely could give suggestions on how I can ...

Re: Grep or Cat Cut Value Used in Subsequent Grep of Cat "criteria" Statement

Thanks for the response. I'm pulling info from an html file, and the order (and perhaps names) will change on occasion, thus why I wanted to use the first grep results to then search in the second string from a different data source. I'm creating a dashboard in conky and using behind the scene scrip...

Grep or Cat Cut Value Used in Subsequent Grep of Cat "criteria" Statement

Say I have a file with the following data Tina Steve Mary I would like to be able to pull one record, say Name 2 'Steve' cat /pathtofile/name.txt | head -2 | tail -1 And use 'Steve' in a subsequent extraction from the following data: Steve 12 Mary 14 Tina 18 The code I imagine would look something l...
