Re: Another auto-mount at boot issue - possible USB3 issue?
Ok, so have been hunting around and have been able to find Debian users with similar (but not the same) issues. Tried this: $ sudo fdisk -l /dev/sdc Note: sector size is 4096 (not 512) Disk /dev/sdc: 3000.6 GB, 3000592982016 bytes 256 heads, 63 sectors/track, 45422 cylinders, total 732566646 sectors...

Lost ext4 partition on external HDD
Hi folks, I have seen Fred's great guide , and it has worked for me perfectly in the past, but now I have hit an unusual issue. I had a D-Link network-attached storage unit (the DNS-345). Can't recommend them - they formatted all of my drives after about three months of use! So, I ripped out one of ...

Hmm, I may have to give that a go...cottfcfan wrote:Problem solved... It was the Monitor cable.
Went out and bought a High Speed DVI Cable for the other connection (the one with the white square plugs)
and problem has gone.
Thanks for all the replies.

Re: No USB Support Running Helena in VBox on an iMac
I was hoping you folks could help me out with this. I am running Linux Mint 8 through VirtualBox 3.1.6 (downloaded from the Sun site) on an iMac. I finally figured out how to get the guest additions installed and downloaded all of the Mint updates. Everything is good to go except for one thing: Non...

Does the Mac remote work? Does the wireless mouse work? Does the 360deg scroll wheel on the mouse work? Do the USB ports on the keyboard work? Does Compiz work? Does Compiz work when using two or more displays? Is GNOME or KDE better? Has anyone attempted this with XP as well? Here's a strange ques...

Re: ATI Radeon Screen Flicker - Please Help
David... Are you saying to uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver or just wine? Just Wine. When you install Wine (or any package, actually), it compiles itself based on whatever drivers you have installed. Ergo, if you change the graphics drivers, an installed package (in this instance, Wine) ...

Mint 8 has an FTP uploader built in. Find it in the Internet sub-menu in the Mint Menu.
Kompozer (or maybe the "z" should be an "s") is a good replacement for Dreamweaver. Find it in Synaptic.

Re: ATI Radeon Screen Flicker - Please Help
I have the same problem with an ATI Radeon something-or-other chip on GNOME (not the same chip as OP, though). I haven't been able to resolve the issue with the OS itself, but if you uninstall, recompile and install Wine again, that should solve the Wine issues. I also found that using the same chip...

Hi all, I'm planning to buy a shiny new iMac sometime in the next few months, and would like to tri-boot Mint 8, OSX (Snow Leper) and Windows XP Pro. I know this is possible, have found the guides and know how to do it, but I would like to ask anyone out there who has got Mint 7 or 8 (any edition) r...
