Re: How To: Partition your Hard Drive.

"extended" get by the hard set 4 partition limitation, by created an "extended" slice you can therefore create more slices in the "extended" slice. I though would change your scheme to this - /dev/sda1: /boot [150 MB] Fine /dev/sda2: / [20GB, because here apps get installed, right? so I need some s...

Re: How To: Partition your Hard Drive.

I'm bringing this to life again, since I'm about to make a clean install of Gloria on my desktop and while searching the Linux Mint Wiki, I found an article on howto partition and it had a link for this thread, and I thought it would be interesting if you guys just gave me your opinion on my partiti...

Re: Important Security Notice - mintAssistant 2.4 in Elyssa!

Okay, sorry to be digging up an old thread, but I've just found an old .iso of Mint 5 lying around my computer and I'm now running it on a Virtual Machine. I'm so used to not being able to "su" on Gloria, but I really dislike mintAssistant, so I'm glad the team took that out of Mint 7. But I was won...

Re: Mint 7 first impressions and suggestions

Great post, johanar! The Mint devs will surely appreciate your suggestions, and if you spend sometime at the LM community, you'll see that the devs over here actually do take in account the users wishes and needs. That's just the best thing in Mint, imho, the close relationship between devs and user...

Re: I love Linux Mint

Quite right! I myself happen to be a distro hopper. I have tried all of the mainstream distro's (Mandriva, Open SUSE, Fedora, PO/OS, Puppy, Ubuntu, etc) and quite a few non-mainstream distro's as well. In trying them all, the one main issue that I kept having was with the WIFI. However, last night ...

Re: Cheers for Linux Mint!

That's so cool! Wish my family could convert like that, I guess we really need to hit a dead end to reach new horizons. Thanks for sharing your story, and good luck with the home schooling deal! (If your family needs 10 laptops, then you must really need it! :P) If you need any help, don't hesitate,...

Re: Start the name suggestions for Mint 9 LTS

Couldn't we integrate a pool here? It would make things easier and more organized, but it's just a suggestion, though.

Btw, +1 for Isabella. Ida is nice too.

Re: Mint > Ubuntu

Okay, this might be a controversial saying but I like Ubuntu's default theme... A LOT. :P And the new Humanity icons? A girl gotta love 'em. I think Koala is a good way to start a new road, towards Lucid Lynx, which I believe will change a lot in Ubuntu's interface and tools. Koala is definit...
