I found a solution, which was to uninstall TB, to install the flatpak version and import my profile. After re-entering passwords for 3 accounts I now have a working email manager however I have lost the MS exchange mail account and Owl. I suspect that the unified display may be a contributory factor...

Damn, did an update this morning and now cannot see any of my email account messages. Sh+t! Browser interface while I try and sort this mess out.

The guilty party does seem to be the Dell Command Configure package. Having removed it, and for good mesure reinstalled openssl, I am now able generate a self-signed certificate.
