...Now reinstall the libQtGui4 package...check the terminal for a new error I reinstalled libQtGui4 package. I opened a Terminal and typed "keepassx". This is what I got: keepassx: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libQtCore.so.4: invalid ELF header ...rinse and repeat. What ...

Re: KeePassX will not open

Really? I didn't think ldd actually attempted to execute the command. I just assumed it checked the bin itself. Let's try this - ls -l /usr/lib/libQtGui* Sample output - lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 2009-12-13 20:57 /usr/lib/libQtGui.so.4 -> libQtGui.so.4.5.2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 2009-12-13 20:57...

Re: KeePassX will not open

The easiest way to determine this is by - ldd /usr/bin/keepassx. This is what I got: /usr/bin/keepassx: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libQtGui.so.4: invalid ELF header Well I un-installed it. Then reinstalled it. Still wont open. When I type keepasx in a Terminal. I get : keepassx:...

Re: KeePassX will not open

Odd. I've used keepass on both linux and windows for a long time and have never had any issues with it. Do you get any errors? Anything in the logs? When does it hang? I mean does it open at all or does it crash when you try to create or open a file? Or do you mean to say it locks up on the install...

KeePassX will not open

I've installed KeePassX by the Synaptic Package Manager. I've tried it about two times. Each time my computer hangs up and have to do a hard restart. I've searched the forums. Someone said to update the kernal. I tried that and the program still won't start. Anyone know of anything else to do?

Re: Mint 8 total freeze up

Mine freeze up when I install Keepass. I've installed it a couple of time. Then I have to do a hard restart. I've tried to wait to see if it starts back on its own. No luck. It's got an icon in the menu, but won't start.

Re: K9copy how to record DVD "Solved"

Wow that sounds pretty cool! Well hopefully we can get it to work with Linux. If your talking about the DVD player. I got it off eBay. Its a PHILIPS DVP5992 1080p HDMI USB 2.0 DIVX DVD PLAYER. I'll look forward to your next post. I've got a couple of movies to work. Had to move the Bitrate to aroun...

Re: K9copy how to record DVD "Solved"

*Maybe by DVD player you mean a regular stand-alone unit? Yes it is. I just bought a DVD player that plays AVI files. I had some files that would work in it that where made in M$ (windows). When I'd right click it and choose Properies. Then click on the "Audio/Video" tab I'd get something...

@ spider are you telling me that Acidrip is the same or almost as DVD Decrypter :?: ... Acidrip however did a great job converting to xvid with no problems... I've used AcidRip also. If I leave the settings to default it does alright. Thats leaving the bitrate set at "lavc". I've got a DV...

Re: Handbrake

Theoretical situation, suppose one used Handbrake to stick some legally purchased dvds on their PsP. The process seemed to go smoothly. They also made some screenshots jpegs to serve as the icons you see when you access the memory card in the PsP. During a break at work, they started to watch a mov...

I was wondering about something. I have recently installed linuxmint and am very satisfied with it. I would like to install a virtualbox type program and run windows vista as a virtual program under the linux umbrella. My question is this. Windows vista came preloaded on my machine and I hate it. I...

Making Video out of Photos with music

Is there a program in Mint that will let you take your photos and make videos out of them? I've used Windows Media Maker and Photo Story 3 in Windows. They both suck. Which Media Maker seems like its better. But, just lets you save for a CD. Photo Story suppose to let you save for a DVD. But, it sav...

Re: Linux Mint and Photography......

Just searched openprinting, and oddly enough there aren't any entries for either of your printers, even though they have entries for everything else. I recommend trying them out and seeing what works. You should be able to run two printers, as long as you can physically plug two in. To set a defaul...

3. Thats my next huge question and the most important one for me. What is the difference between the like five different desktops for linux (KDE, X, GNOME) whatever else. Felicia or the main release is GNOME right? There is a KDE version? Is it better? Is it even worth checking out? Is there a diff...

Re: recording TV to pc using linux

It is very possible with Linux. Have you heard of MythTV? It is a full blown media center & DVR system for Linux. First you will need to have the correct type of TV-tuner card for the type of signal you have. The card will also have to be supported by Linux. Here is a good starting point for in...
