Re: Wifi connection using Linksys wusb54gs or wmp54g [SOLVE

Thank you for your help caf4926. 1. Should work. If you do 'Show Password' your sure it's correct? Yes, I did. No, it still will not work; however, the second solution worked. 2. The broadcom drivers, assuming you correctly identified the device, using your wired connection: sudo apt-get install fir...

Re: Wifi issues

Newbie Q: I am having similar trouble. When I connect Linksys WUSB54G (version 1), an external wifi adaptor (via USB), a dialog box pops up requesting the encryption key. When I enter the encryption key (that works under WinXP and Win7), it fails to connect and, after a few seconds, the same dialog ...

Re: [SOLVED] - WMP54G installation

Newbie Q: I have the same issue with WMP54G (v1.1) card. It was not recognized by Mint 14 Cinnamin 32bit. Re: Loveing LXDE mint

Thank you Mint LXDE team. I've tried Mint 9 Gnome, Mint 9 KDE, PCLinuxOS, and Mint 9 LXDE. Mint 9 LXDE is best for me - less bloat and faster response. Running on Pentium 4 Prescott 3.2GHz; 2.5G RAM; SATA HD. The system runs fine with Gnome, KDE, WinXP; but none of these can beat LXDE for simplicity...

Re: Where is Nautilus?

How do I create a menu item for it? What do I have to be care about? Sorry for being a Noob, but your answers just lead to more questions... The feature I missed from Nautilus is the Tree display feature. Can PCManFM be configured for this? Also, are there documentation for such questions so I don't...

Where is Nautilus?

Just installed Mint 9 LXDE and like it so far; miss Nautilus from Gnome, so I installed Nautilus using Synaptic Package manager. However, after the install, I cannot find the link in the menu/submenu - where is it? I know it is installed because when I bring up a command line window and type Nautilu...

Re: [solved] disk drive not ready; disk mount problem

mick Your instructions solved the problem. Thank you! Followup Questions and comments: 1. It is a bit strange that a Mint problem is best solved by booting some other Linux distro (in this case, Puppy Linux) - even if the problem was the user, not the Mint OS. Why can't Mint liveCD be used to solve ...

Re: disk drive not ready

Thanks for the info. mick.

I can boot Mint9 liveCD, but /etc/fstab file the temp file for the liveCD session.

How can I mount MaxE partition (where Mint9 is installed) to edit its files?

Thanks again.

Re: Hard Drive Not Recognized...

mick Thanks for the info. The tutorial appears pretty straight forward. But question remains - how is it that, sometime after I login, these partitions are listed when I click on the "Computer" icon (invoking Nautilus)? Then, when I click on the partition (listed in the Nautilus file browser), then ...

Re: Change of desktop workspace switching

Ctrl - Alt - arrow does not work for me; perhaps conflicting / interfering with ibus set up? For now, I just mouse-click on the desktop to get there. In any event, is there a way to reassign the key combo to change Desktops? How about Alt-N where N is the number of the desktop. Also, I don't know ho...

The drive is partitioned in 3 partitions. I am new to Linux (any distro.). In fact, Mint is the first distro. I am trying out, and ...
