Re: Basket Notes problem pasting images and text
Try keepnote. It can do all that.carol33 wrote:The only Linux apps I'm aware of that you can simply paste in hyperlinked text and images is big word apps, like OpenOffice Word. I couldn't find any Linux note-taking apps that can do this.

40% vs 60% with almost 100 votes total. I think that's a significant % of Linuxers who agree with my thoughts about there being too much choice in Linux.

Re: Skype webcam launch preload error
Solved! Used info from here to help. Had to put this in the launch command (Menu Editor/Skype/Command): LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so /usr/bin/skype.real You might have to do this first in terminal: sudo chmod 755 /usr/bin/skype.real I'm using Mint 8 still, so this may be the reason why. ...

[Solved] Skype webcam launch preload error (Mint 8?)
My webcam works in Kopete (I'm using KDE). Trying to get it to work in Skype. Read to launch Skype from terminal with this command: LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype but I get this: ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2compat.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored. [Solved] Formatting external drive & permissions in KDE
Bought a used 750GB external hard drive. I formatted it using KDE Partition Manager. Choose FAT32 (other formats recommended? Want to access with Windows too). Formated fine, but I can't change permissions. I open my external drive in Dolphin under root, try to change the permission (Properties > Pe...

Does it have a front-end for VBA? It says : "A VisualBoyAdvance frontend to configure the emulator easily." It also has as a dependency, visualboyadvance : "An emulator for Gameboy and Gameboy Advance systems." I'm not much of a gamer, so just going by what it says. They have a ...

Re: the best KDE distro
Exactly why I will not use Chakra linux. I love the idea and It looks great even if the installer could "Eat my hamster" but it does not have any emulators. VBA snes9x dolphin mupen64 pcsx-r these are all emulators I need for my favorite games that Chakra does not have. VBA - has snes9x -...

Re: Would Linux be more popular with LESS choice?
The amount of choice is only indirectly responsible for the low popularity. I know there's other reasons. Just highlighting this one. To be popular, Linux needs to have lots of high quality *finished* software and official driver support. +1 It isn't going to happen unless there's going to be a sin...

Chakra is quickly becoming my favorite. Rolling, stable (as far as I can tell), polished, and has a great community.

Re: Not a COM32R image
I'm having this same problem using Startup Disk Creator to make a USB persistent boot. Doing a little research, it may be because of the current version of Syslinux , which is 4.01. You can download the newer 4.03 version tar.gz file here: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/ Can som...

Re: M10 KDE NetworkManager saves connection but doesnt show
How do you get the kdewallet to stop asking for your password at startup to enter wifi? I checked "connect automatically" in the Network Connections.
I do notice there is no "Apply to All Users" as I think earlier version had.
