Last night I bought a wireless mouse and I'm not having problems with it so far.

Firefox navigates to a random page while scrolling.

I use Firefox to surf the web and it has a tendency when I'm scrolling with the mousepad on my laptop to usually scroll but sometimes navigate to a random page from my history. Has anyone else had this problem? How can it be fixed?

Re: Firefox randomly goes to my homepage

Okay, I guess I got a few details wrong. It's not always my homepage it goes to, it sometimes goes to any page in my recent history, and always when I'm scrolling. Anyone have any ideas as to what the bug there might be?

Re: Error transferring track?

I think I've found the culprit. The songs that won't play all seem to be .m4p files, whereas all the songs that will play are some other type of audio file. I'm going to go see if I can find something to convert these files.

Re: Error transferring track?

Maybe I wasn't being clear. I get that error message if I try to drag and drop the song from its folder into my library on Rhythmbox.

Error transferring track?

Today, I discovered that about 27 songs on my computer that used to play fine in rhythmbox now give me an error saying "Didn't get a playback URI for entry file:[path and name of the song file]." What is a playback URI and how do I fix this problem?

Re: Rhythmbox crashes right after I open it.

Well, this was odd. Something I didn't say: My music library is on the Win 7 partition of my computer (because there's no itunes for linux, only substitues) and if I didn't have my windows partition mounted, Rhythmbox would stay open, but displaying 0 songs from 0 albums by 0 artists. Then I would c...

Rhythmbox crashes right after I open it [SOLVED].

So yesterday for some reason Rhythmbox started crashing and closing every time I open it. If I open it from the terminal I see: (rhythmbox:2081): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_tree_model_get_iter_first: assertion `GTK_IS_TREE_MODEL (tree_model)' failed (rhythmbox:2081): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_combo_box_set_act...

Firefox randomly goes to my homepage

Sometimes when I'm browsing the web on Firefox, it randomly goes to my homepage. I googled this problem and found that people had fixed this problem by uninstalling g15daemon. So I went into my package manager and discovered that that package wasn't installed in the first place. What do I do to fix ...

System Settings and Cinnamon Settings

I have an idea for the next version of Mint Cinnamon. I often have trouble remembering which settings are in "System Settings" and which ones are in "Cinnamon Settings," so why not just put Cinnamon Settings inside of System Settings so they'd both be in the same place and users wouldn't have to ope...

Volume change intervals?

Okay, so whenever I press the volume up or down buttons on my laptop, the volume changes by 6% of max. I know Linux is open-source, so there must be some way I can change that, my question is how? I want to make it change by more around 2% or 4% because sometimes a jump by 6% takes it from quieter t...

Why can't I change permissions for files on my external HDD?

So I've got an external hard drive with an open office document that stores my passwords on it. I opened it up and it said it was locked for editing, so I opened it read-only and saved it under a different name on the HDD. I'd like to be able to access this file from both my windows partition and my...

Fusing two songs? [SOLVED]

I bought the CD of the 1776 New Broadway Cast Recording sountrack and uploaded it onto my computer to put onto my ipod, but I'm having a bit of a minor problem. I like to listen to my ipod on shuffle, but for some reason, the people who made the soundtrack had to break up "Piddle Twiddle and Resolve...

How should I partition my HDD to dual boot?

So I went to run the "install Linux Mint 14" on my new laptop which is running Windows 7, and discovered that it doesn't have an option to simply install Mint next to the already existing OS, only to manually partition the hard drive and assign a function to each partition. I've had bad experiences ...

BIND update?

Looking at my most recent set of ready updates, I noticed that a lot of them were for DNS-related things. I don't host any websites on my computer and I don't plan on doing so any time in the future, so do I really need those updates?
