Re: Messed up hard disk!
The above information seems to say that 1. your USB is /dev/sdb and it is msdos vfat format 2. your HDD is /dev/sda, is GPT format and has vfat on /dev/sda which is usually the bios-boot partition for UEFI. If my reading is correct... then here are the first method to try :::: Use the boot-repair. ...

Re: Messed up hard disk!
Just to clarify my original post. The message I referred to is coming up when I use GParted not during boot. /dev/sdb contains GPT signatures, indicating that it has a GPT table. However, it does not have a valid fake msdos partition table, as it should. Perhaps it was corrupted -- possibly by a pro...

[SOLVED] Messed up hard disk!
Ok, long story short. Installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my Asus X401A laptop. Ran like a pig. Installed Linux Mint 15 but got some error messages referring to Ubuntu for some reason. Decided to wipe the HDD clean using GParted. Reinstalled Mint from USB pen drive but when it reboots it's not detecting the h...

Re: Disabling touchpad mouse?
Actually, spoke too soon.
It does not retain the setting and the touchpad turns itself back on again after a while.
So I suppose back to the original question. Is it possible to include the original setting from Mint 7 ?

Disabling touchpad mouse?
In Mint 7 it was possible to disable the touchpad mouse. Is there a reason why it can not be included in the Mint 8 options?
I believe it can be disabled via the terminal but this has to be done on every reboot.
Thanks
Dave

Crash on resuming from suspend.
Dell Vostro 1700.
Being a newbie I have no idea if the error is written to a file.

Re: Linux Mint 8 RC1 Bug Thread
Disable touchpad is now missing from mouse options.
Not a bug as such but it was a really useful feature.

Re: Importing bookmarks
I am using Opera at the moment but have tried importing them into Firefox as well with the same problem.
I just used the export to html option in windows and saved that. And in Mint I used the import option.
Cheers

Importing bookmarks
Hi, I have recently converted from windows to Mint and everything has gone without a hitch. I am very impressed and my only complaint is that I did not do it sooner :) One thing that does have me stumped though is when I import bookmarks into the browser. Everything imports fine but every link in th...
