Making XFCE Mint Edition look closer to the "standard" XFCE
Hi, I have just installed Mint 17.3 XFCE edition. I was wondering what are the available options to make XFCE look and behave more closely to a base standard XFCE (like it was installed and downloaded from the XFCE website)? I could go through the different settings and modify them. On the other end...

Re: French canadian keyboard
Thanks !
You have been a great help. Indeed, the XFCE is confusing for keyboard selection.

Re: French canadian keyboard
I installed the mate control center and then started it using the mate-keyboard-properties. I immediatly noticed there was an additional keyboard layout in the french canada heading compared to the french canada heading of the XFCE keyboard layouts. To be sure I opened both keyboard layout screens s...

Re: French canadian keyboard
Sorry for skimping on the details. I have installed Linux Mint 15 XFCE 64 bits edition. An example of mismatch in the layout would be when I press on the key to make an "accent grave" it automatically prints a "e accent grave" rather than allow me to select a letter by another ke...

I have the same problem which is weird because in Ubuntu I could select the correct mapping. Would there be some way to just import the correct mapping and add it ?

Dual monitor setup under Mint 15 XFCE
Hello, I have just installed Linux Mint 15 XFCE edition 64 bit this morning. My computer has two monitors plugged in the same video card. By default both monitors are showing the exact same thing. A "mirror" like setting. I would want both monitor to be independent and be able to show diff...

I think my swap is to big!
Hi, I remember reading somewhere that swap should be around 2 times your ram. Since I have 6 gb or RAMS that should have been 12 gigs SWAP. I put 10 gigs because I was short on space. Now I realize that was a mistake, when I check my system monitor when my system is under heavy load my RAM shows onl...

Is it safe to add Karmic repositories with Gloria?
Hi there is some software which I want features which are not available in the version found in the current Jaunty packages but are in Karmic.
Can I just add or replace the Jaunty sources in my sources file with Karmic or do I risk breaking the system?

No sound in KDE except in System Settings test
Hi, I used to hear sound in KDE but not anymore. If I go in the System Settings, MultiMedia menu and I "Test" my audio output device, I'm hearing sound loud and clear. In VLC media player, games and FireFox (youtube videos) I can't hear anything... For Mp3s, they play with amarok, but not ...

Plugging headphones doesn't mute speaker.
Hello, I have an HP Pavilion with a speaker on the computer monitor. When I plug in the headphones, I hear sound coming from the headphones, but I still continue to hear sound from the monitor speaker. I searched the forums and while I found a similar problem the answer dealt with laptop hardware (I...
